Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

But better than Iowa. Rutgers will win.

Iowa could play Brady Ellingson 40 minutes tonight and they'd still win. Rutgers is one of the worst P5 teams of all time. Probably the easiest comparison would be Kansas football this year

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Using this logic, ISU could win for the next 98 years by a single point, but in this guys mind, iowa would be better because they outscored ISU over a 118 year period. Yeah, I'll buy that.

Nope, this is more or less a tie breaker imo. I think most rational fans would agree. IF ISU won the next 20 games by one point a piece and Iowa won one game by 21 points, no way in hell would I say that Iowa was better or has the better program.

But, getting back on topic, I really hope hoks get a #1 seed. They wouldn't survive the first weekend.

They are going to have to only lose 1-2 games the rest of the year, and make it to conference title game for that to happen. Otherwise, committee won't give them much respect.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Exactly and in those years ISU usually wins by a FG or something. When Iowa wins, it is usually double digits. That says to me that in the years ISU wins they are barely better than Iowa that year, but when Iowa wins they are much better than ISU that year. Wouldn't you agree?

Why don't you just go get the scores and prove yourself right, I couldn't help but notice you have the internet.

So over the last 20 years ISU has been better half of the time. I can agree with that

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

I really don't understand the fascination some have on here with projected seeds/locations. Its one thing to look at it in late Feb or early March. Its the middle of January. Things change quickly - just ask Michigan State and Duke.

Yes when Iowa is better than ISU they beat them. Sometimes the beat ISU by a lot sometimes they don't. Iowa does have higher highs in football than ISU, nobody is questing that. But when you take a season by season look at it Iowa is closer to ISU than Iowa fans want to admit.

I can just hear ferentz now...."Don't worry guys, sure we lost today by 2 points. But we won LAST year by 14 points. So go ahead, pat each other on the back. We are actually winners today".

Iowa -22 lol Rutgers.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

FWIW, Wade Lookingbill is on Murph and Andy today and he just called ISU a Top 5 team this year.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Purdue was -21 at Rutgers earlier this week. Won by 50.

Purdue outrebounded Rutgers 63-23. That's not a typo. I am jealous of Iowa though, playing in the Big 12 you don't get a road game where you can just show up and win

Hopefully Campbell turns things around for you guys, but this is laughable. ISU has only won two conference titles since 1945, they've been to 11 bowl games with only 3 wins.. It's a SMALL list of teams that are worse than that.

Hey pal, a Hawkeye fan was the one that said it.

I have no problem saying ISU was barely better than Iowa in 99, 01, 07, 11, 12, and 14 though many of these games were coin flips and kudos to ISU for winning every one of them. ISU was much better than Iowa in 98, 2000, and 2005. I think ISU was barely better than Iowa in 2002 at the time they played, but Iowa was easily better as the season wore on.

Iowa was barely better than ISU in 06 and 13, but were much better than ISU in 96, 97, 03, 04, 08, 09, 10, and 15.

I never said that. I'm staunchly saying that Iowa is much better than ISU in football in the last 20 years. It isn't that close, only in some clone fans eyes. They just to chose to use semantics instead of reality.
