Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Debatable I guess. I already admitted Iowa has a better resume than ISU right now but I'm sure even you have to wonder how Uthoff could have the best game of his career and still lose to a team that Iowa is "better" than

Uthoff had the best half of his life, but I would say the fact that he disappeared in the second half takes away some of the luster of his first half.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

It must get tiring having to defend why Iowa's the "better team" but keeps losing to Iowa State year after year, eh guys?

He scored 5 more points than his previous career high. So yeah, definitely his best career game

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

So, ISU wins head to head vs. iowa, and hok fans think their team is better. That lets me know the IQ of anyone who says so.

ISU will end up with 2-3 more losses than iowa at the end of the year, and will still get a higher seed. Hoks only rebuttal will be ISU lost to UNI. Good burn.

Must be rough spending the entire football season defending your team against America, only to get embarrassed in the last 2 games.

Now you have to turn around and do it for basketball.

Not only was your football conference a joke, MSU and Purdue, the golden schools of the conference, are showing the basketball conference is a joke as well. Bahahaha!

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

You're delusional, buddy. Your football team went undefeated in the regular season for the first time ever and went to the Rose Bowl for the first time in 25 years and your fan attendance went down by 6% from the previous year. Your basketball team is top ten and yet your gym is almost completely empty regularly. See the game against Nebraska as an example.

Meanwhile, Iowa State is terrible at football and saw an 8% increase in attendance and we regularly sell out Hilton, including against teams much worse and out of conference like Coppin State.

Don't let the FACTS get in the way of your idiocy.

You guys just might be one of the worst fan bases in the country when it comes to supporting your team.

I just want to applaud the level of spin on this one, even for this site. Well done.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

This dude's eye-test is better than Pomeroy's metrics. We need to get you a job on ESPN.

ISU is loaded with talent, what do you want me to say?

MSU lost to a .500 Wisc team and Nebraska. They are not very good right now. WSU is beating up on a bad MVC so their numbers are going up.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

I'd be more worried about the game in 2 days if I were ISU fans. Not only is it your typical let down game, but you also have the look ahead game with KU after.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Why are you still replying to me? Everyone in this forum is dumber after having read my thoughts. I'll return tomorrow with a better attitude and maybe, just maybe I won't embarrass myself.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

What does it say about Iowa's football program when they have been equal or worse than ISU about half the time the last 20 years?

Huh??? Not even close to being true. Since 1996 the results are as follows.

Iowa 146-103 including three BCS bowl games winning one and two shares of B1G championships. This includes going 7-8 in bowl games.

Iowa State 90-151 and 3-5 in bowl games.

Head to head is 10-10. But I bet Iowa owns the point differential by at least 100 points.

Oh my gaaaawwwwdddddd.....hok fan what is wrong with you???? You should know from your little Rose Bowl adventure this year it's not about the score, it's about the ride and just getting there.

!

Lets not forget ISU lost to UNI in the first game after one of their best players season ended and they were still in team in change from one coach to another. There was a lot of trying to figure out who they were in that game.

So really it's almost like Iowa is ahead 15-5

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

This discussion will be moot when Uthoff scores <10 points and Iowa gets dropped by Rutgers tonight.

I hate Iowa as much as the next guy but this statement is ridiculous. Rutgers is horrible. Probably worse than Augustana.

All it really says is that in year's that Iowa wins they are usually much, much, much better than ISU is that year. When ISU wins they are usually minimally better than Iowa that year.

Well, since they play in different conferences, I guess the only fair comparison is head to head. So yeah, saying iowa and ISU are on the same level the last 20 years is accurate.

And even if iowa has scored 100 more points in the series over that time, that equates to 5 ppg, or as some would say, a 1 possession game. Hardly dominant.

So without looking at the point differential what is the overall head to head record the last 20 years?

Using this logic, ISU could win for the next 98 years by a single point, but in this guys mind, iowa would be better because they outscored ISU over a 118 year period. Yeah, I'll buy that.

Go look at it season by season. There are a lot of years in that time span where ISU and Iowa have ended the season within 1or 2 wins of each other and a few where ISU has had a better record.

Exactly and in those years ISU usually wins by a FG or something. When Iowa wins, it is usually double digits. That says to me that in the years ISU wins they are barely better than Iowa that year, but when Iowa wins they are much better than ISU that year. Wouldn't you agree?
