Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

I would agree for the most part. I think most people and myself included would say that ISU is very fortunate to win a lot of those games whereas Iowa was head and shoulders better most of the year's they won. I think 10-10 is the best case scenario for ISU during the last 20 years. Would you say that ISU has had a better or even football program than Iowa the past 20 years?

I would say to consider a team "head and shoulders" above another you would need a score of 17+ point differential. 10 points or even 14 points doesn't scream "head and shoulders above".

Iowa has only done that 5 times the last 20 years. ISU has done it twice.

Our programs are closer than you would like to admit in talent the last 20 years. Has iowa had more success in that time? Yes, they have. But there are many variables in that equation such as different conferences, injuries each season, etc. You can only compare apples to other apples. And the apples I'm comparing come out to 10-10 over a 20 year period.

So you would say that ISU in the last 20 years is on par with Iowa in football?

For the 20th time, yes. We are all saying in the last 20 years, with a 10-10 record, ISU is EXACTLY on par with the hoks in football, when it comes to head to head matchups. Which is the ONLY fair way to compare the 2 teams.

And this is the LAST time I'm mentioning this FACT in a thread about basketball. You either get it, or you don't. Just a reminder, it was a hok fan that turned this into a football conversation. Shocker! Why are hok fans such whiny *******?

Even using your very odd qualifier, you couldn't even manage to get the correct number of events correct. Well Done.

Yep, my bad. Correct one is 5-2. I had only gone back 18 years by mistake. Unlike most hok fans, I'm not afraid to own my mistakes.

We were just on Big Monday. We are on Big Monday again next week. Gameday will most likely be at KU when we play them. We beat #1 Oklahoma, we beat #9 Iowa. I would say it still IS our year.

You have a successful season if you bypass the play in game, and win 1 game in the tourney. We have an unsuccessful season if we don't make the Elite 8. Big difference in the 2.

Have fun showcasing your games on the big10 network. Want to compare the number of viewers ESPN has over the big10 network? What a joke.

You do know Iowa is also on ESPN sometimes right. You know the big ten signed the biggest deal of all conference with the espn worth 1 billion dollars.. Btn pays all its members 25million a year for TV rights, and that isn't including what ESPN/abc pays.. So yeah keep making fun of the btn... So by your standards hoiberg, Floyd, and Orr never had a successful season??

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Iowa has to be the luckiest MBB and FB program around.

in basketball, they played an imploding Mich St twice, injured Mich team, and wichita St team without a couple starters.

Wisconsin hadn't been this bad since the 90's, Ohio st getting beat by 30-40 pts (when did that ever happen?),Indiana decent, NW, Nebraska , Penn St crappy, Minnesota awful, Rutgers terrible

The field is wide open

So what you're saying is that it's okay that your games are on Sundays opposite the NFL playoffs because of a big payday? I'll take Big Monday myself.

Also, where do you get the $25mil from? I see that Big10 members got a total of $30.9mil each. Including total TV and bowl money in the 2014-2015 year. So if the BTN is $25mil of that the ESPN deal must really suck.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

How can both Rutgers and St. John's be soooo freaking bad.

the ESPN deal is 10 year 1 billion dollars. So 100 million each year dived between the teams..

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

I thought I was watching a women's game until I realized Iowa has two players with perms.
