If UI were in DSM it would be spot on.

It's a flawed analogy.
For the reasons I mentioned ISU fits well in DSM.

It always amuses me that the thing that lit the fire, a sparkler, is still allowed while everything else is now banned.
In terms of laws there aren't really i disagree with...but I just hate country music with a passion which seems to conflict with a majority of radio stations in Iowa..I hate the stereotypes about the state.. I don't like that it doesn't have a professional sports team and all of that entails, especially with the quality of sports radio...besides Murph and Andy and the occasional CW spot, the sports radio in the state is horrid....I formed this opinion with my iHeartRadio app compared to other media markets....
I love so many things about the state.
I like that UofI aND uni are here. It just feels better when ISU beats them. I wouldn't like to be like Nebraska and only have one major school.
I like that the same state that elects Tom Harkin also elects Steve King
I like that we have 4 seasons
I like that a small state like Iowa spanks when it comes to attendance to events. Things like Nascar, Golf, Olympic sports, etc always have good turnout.
I love the small towns of Iowa like where I went to high school. I can go back 20 years later and see tons of old friends. I liked going to a small school where you know everyone and you're whole school is just too small to have cliques. A place where even non-athletes can play as freshman and play on both sides of the ball. A place where there is not one stoplight.
I love living in the largest city in Iowa and still able to drive 15 miles to work in 15-20 minutes.
I love that I can go on vacation and really appreciate good weather. If you live in San Diego would you even go to a place like Cancun? Even though I've been there probably 10 times, I'm still giddy when I get off the plane in Vegas. If I lived there would I even go to the strip?
It use to bother me that people in other states were so misinformed about Iowa. I've grown out of that and could care less. I was in Italy last year and was talking to a local that knew more about Iowa than probably 90% of Americans. Some people are just dumb and self centered, I'd rather have these types stay away.

For me it was snow.... hate snow.
Also didn't like state income tax.
Farm equipment on highways.
