What Do You Hate About Our State?

1. Hawkeye Fans/Trailer courts
2. Weak Beer
3. No using rifles for deer season.
4. Mesquitos
5. Bitter *** cold weather that seems to last from November to April 20th.

But all this aside - I miss living in Iowa (except the Hawkeye fans).

They fixed that one in 2010

Off the top of my head;

Central Campus
Campanile
the water tower
the Farmhouse
Hilton
downtown Des Moines at the river bridges
DM library
DM sculpture garden
Grant Wood murals
Jack Trice statue
DM Art Center
the Grant Woods / Thomas Hart Bentons inside the DM Art Center
State Capitol
Terrace Hill
A burning dumpster

Right, I agree on the Ames ones. Iowa State does not play in Des Moines so why would they show scenery or attractions from DSM? That would be like TCU showing attractions in Austin.

1. Not enough McDonalds
2. The double wide next to me smells bad
3. Tavernhoks
4. Taverns that don't let you smoke
5. Uppity Taverns

The fact Vegas isn't within driving distance.
The fact an ocean/beach isn't within driving distance.
and (most importantly) the fact Nebraska is...

Except that UT is in Austin and TCU is in Fort Worth. Pretty stupid analogy.

It would behoove ISU to co-opt DSM as much as possible. We have a big fan and alumni base there and it's the closest metro to Ames. It makes perfect sense to any ISU fan and could be explained nationally as DSM-the state capital, being "right down the road" from Ames. I don't have anything against the obligatory cornfield or harvest scene but after shots on campus (obvious and more interesting than a cornfield) DSM shots, due to it's proximity to ISU make sense.

Actually his analogy is spot on. ISU showing DSM footage is just like TCU showing Austin footage. Neither fits.
