RB Iowa, Hawks have a lot of depth
My thoughts are that you are a troll, please leave:biggrin:Good luck to you guys Saturday. So lets compare units.
QB Toss-up, both are good
RB Iowa, Hawks have a lot of depth
OL Iowa, too much talent on Iowa's Oline
WR Iowa, Hawks have loads of talent and depth
TE Iowa, enough said
DL Iowa, Iowa State gave up 200 plus yards rushing against the Bison
LB Iowa, Hawks once again stacked at LB
DB Toss-up lean Iowa. Cyclones gave up a lot of yards last year.

Didn't spivey get carted off the field. Iowa would have us at a few positions if not for injuries. Saturday should be fun
QB- Toss Up
RB- Iowa State
- Those of you saying Arnaud is much better than Stanzi are crazy. I understand the only time some of you might have seen Ricky are against ISU last year, but I assure you Ricky has improved a lot since then. His QB rating was higher last year, and had a more impressive first game this season (16-21 in the 2nd half).
WR- Toss Up
TE- Iowa
- You can say ISU has depth, well so does Iowa. McNutt, DJK, Stross, Keenan Davis, Paul Chaney Jr. Iowa goes 5 deep at WR, and DJK, McNutt, Davis have just as much, if not more, TALENT than the ISU receivers.
OL- Iowa
- Anyone saying this is close is not paying much attention. When Moeaki is healthy, he is one of the top TEs in the country. Reisner is a good enough TE to start at a lot of schools, and makes one of the best 2nd TEs in the country.
DL-Iowa
LB- Iowa
DB- Toss Up
Special Teams- Toss Up
- Depending how Prater performs when he gets back in 2 weeks, this could go ADV- Iowa. But that will be after the ISU game. Spievey is simply one of the best. However, Greenwood and Castillo leave much to be desired for.
Coaching- Iowa
- The kicking game is pretty much even, and the return games are too. Maybe a slight edge to Iowa St. You can call the 2 blocked field goals for Iowa a fluke if you want, but the fact is that the Iowa line collapsed UNI's line, and that's why Iowa got the blocks.
Home Field Advantage- ISU
I expect this to be a hell of a game, with one team pulling away with a TD late in the game (kind of like '05). Obviously I think Iowa will win. But most of you are going to say ISU. I say: 24-16 Iowa.
Home Field Advantage- ISU
QUOTE]
Wow, that's some groundbreaking insight. You're a natural Lou Holtz aren't ya?
Stanzi is a good quarterback. He just doesn't have the complete package that Arnaud does.
You gave the advantage to Iowa for RB and WR??? Take off your black and gold glasses. I seriously chuckled out loud and I still have a grin on my face as I type this.
NO......
wsrgohawks: Special teams go to ISU. Just bc you blocked 2 fg's does not give the advantage to Iowa.. Yes, it did win you the game, but still... ISU has 2 GREAT returners, with Sims and Johnson. And our kicker made a 50 yd fg, that would have been good from 60.

RB- Iowa State Good Job

If ISU blitzes like I think they will, Stanzi will need to change his pants by halftime.
WR- Toss Up
After attending the Iowa game last weekend, I must actually say that Iowa has the advantage at receiver. Mcnutt is a great target for the Hawks, DJK didnt play a whole lot, but did look good when he got in. Stross made an amazing catch and played consistent all game. Freshman Keenan Davis has hops and hands, he is a freak.

OL- Iowa Yup

DL-Iowa Yup
LB- Iowa I didnt pay close enough attention on Saturday, but UNI did tear the Hawks up in just about ever part of the game, so I'm gonna push this one.
DB- Toss Up Wrong. Prater doesnt get to play this week. He sits out this week due to suspension. Spievey did impress but the Iowa defensive back corps as a whole failed miserably on Saturday.
Special Teams- Toss Up
- Depending how Prater performs when he gets back in 2 weeks, this could go ADV- Iowa. But that will be after the ISU game. Spievey is simply one of the best. However, Greenwood and Castillo leave much to be desired for.
Totally wrong. Hallgren doesnt have a leg so he drives his kicks. His first field goal that he made barely got over his linemen's head because he kicks them so low. Iowa did get a good push, but throw in Murray, Mossbrucker or Mahoney into that situation (all M names, tee hee hee), and they get it up and over the line.

Coaching- Iowa I think we'll find out Saturday who comes up with a better game plan.
Home Field Advantage- ISU Duh?

You won't get the opportunity to return any punts against Iowa because Ryan Donahue is won of the better punters there is. Donahue is a big reason Iowa ended up beating UNI. 50 yard field goals are a dime a dozen now a days. If the edge goes to Iowa St, it is a very slight edge at that.
And I never said Iowa has the edge....I said it is a toss up
[/LIST]Huh?
Stanzi's First Game:
Arnaud's First Game:
- 22/34 Passing for 242 yards and 1 TD
- 5 Carries for -36 yards and 0 TD
- 16/28 Passing for 227 yards and 2 TD
- 16 Carries for 83 yards and 1 TD
