Friday OT: A game to remember

Because Angie is out this week. I was asked to fill in for the Friday OT thread.

I tend to remember things/events in reference to ISU events/games ,etc. Does anybody else do this? Example: I bought my car the day that Iowa State beat TCU back in 2019. I was watching the game on the TV in the dearlership showroom while the paperwork was process.

What things do you tend to remember because of an ISU game or event?

In fairness, if someone pesters you for over 5 minutes on a plane, you should be allowed to punch them in the face.

I'm sure there have been other polls in the past about donating but with recent news wanted to get a pulse check from the CF community on who does/doesn't donate to Iowa State athletics. Maybe those in the know with the Athletic Department or the "collective" can use this information to help with their fundraising campaigns.

For me personally I fall under the ,"Yes - I donate only required minimum but have the ability to donate more (can be to AD, NIL, etc.)" category.

After seeing the numbers out there about our fanbase rank among our conference peers and what it would take for us to compete in the NIL market, it is eye opening. I'm not a fan of "paying to be a fan" but maybe we need a mindset change. I know I can do better. I love Iowa State and want it to stay competitive.

Cubs Streaming Sites

Hey fellow Cyclone fans. I was hoping some of you that enjoy baseball as much as I do would know of any streaming sites to stream Cubs games on. I have Hulu and they have not brought Marquee back which is extremely disappointing. Also, looked into FuboTV and spending 60 a month for Cubs games seems like a stretch. Does anyone have any sites you utilize for games? Reddit doesn’t have mlb streams anymore and that was always my go to. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Nick Bassett Perseverance Award

Pretty awesome way for Iowa State to honor Nick. Amped to see the helmet decals on the field in September.

Sad thing about the portal & NIL

Giving kids money like this in college will lead to a lot more kids who had professional capabilities flaming out in college. They will now have all this money and no one to guide them. No sports agent will be around to give them advice. They will get lazy and waste their opportunities. It will also attract low life people hanging around them bleeding them dry for wine, women and song. This is impending disaster. Many of these kids will end up with no money and no college degree. That's a shame!

Cyclone Club, Gridiron Club, other options?

With Hunter transferring out, it should be a wake up call to us Cyclone fans that we need to do more to support ISU athletics monetarily. With that said, I'm debating on donating to either the Cyclone Club or Gridiron Club (yes I know neither of these has anything to do with NIL). Is one better than the other? Are there other clubs I'm unaware of that support ISU athletics?

Best way to sell car

My wife and I are going to be moving to New Jersey, and as a result, we are going to sell one of our cars. I looked online for the steps, and it looks like I just need to complete the information on the title as well as create and sign a Bill of Sale, which I found one online.

The question is what is the best way to get my car out there for people to see? Is there a good website that gets a lot of views for this kind of stuff?

Thanks in advance!

NIL and college sports

Let me just say that I’m glad that I’m a deep rooted fan of the sisters. After the news that hit MBB today it just made me angry and sick to my stomach.

With our program, we are slightly protected because there isn’t a huge career in pro WBB. The blue bloods already get the best players So there isn’t as much (but we are seeing the transfer portal exploding here too) impact of money leading to transfers.

The biggest aspect of our program is how a community, give back, be involved, do things the right way environment is fostered. I bet if you asked graduates of the WBB program they would attribute some of their personal success in life to this very thing. This is also why fans of the sisters attend games better than 90% of the rest of the country. These are our “girls.” We truly do care about them.

So, today especially I’m glad that my heart and time investment is with the women's program.

Recruiting: Beni Ngoyi (Neb. three-star WR) says Cyclones have risen up his list

Onward and Upward

I really didn't think TH would leave......I was wrong........But I also didn't think TJ could accomplish what he accomplished this last year........
So, onward and upward. If TH's heart and soul isn't here at ISU, his body shouldn't be either.
I am excited to see what next year brings and will root my butt off for the players wearing the Cyclone uniforms.
