I went with my kids to Wal Mart for them to buy some Pokemon cards and saw these boxes of Panini Select Draft Picks '22 sitting there with Matt Corral on the cover.

So I purchased a few boxes hoping to get a Breece Hall or Brock Purdy, but when I opened the cards, about 2/3 of them were not in fact 2022 draft picks. I got Bo Jackson, Pat Mahomes, Josh Allen, etc. I don't mind a few former picks, but it shouldn't be over half of the cards.

Is that common? To me, it seems like false advertising or misleading at best.

It wouldn't be so painful if they weren't so expensive (~$1/card).

I'm unfamiliar with the rule change process. Anyone know when this happens? I'd love to see something different done with how the match stops immediately on a challenge. We had several guys get bad calls because of a brick that I believe was intentionally thrown to stop the match and limit points.

Any other rule changes you'd like to see?

Finally saw this over the weekend. Bawled my eyes out. It’s really good. Deals with PTSD, depression, survival. Could have delved into the guy’s depression a bit more and how he was truly going to get some help but the wildcat portion of it is just incredible.

I'm no movie critic, but I thought it was great. I didn't get into John Wick until the late 2010s, around the time of the third movie, and I've loved them ever since. They're just great movies for turning off your brain and having a good time watching Keanu wreck people.

This was a long movie but didn't feel like it. And the action scenes in Paris were great.

I don't blame Bolton for bringing his cyclone into this but that team is playing close to our first round loss in offensive efficiency.

Uconn looked good when they beat us, no suprise they are still that good now.

Impatiently waiting to see what happens in the portal, and already excited and wanting to talk about next year. My prediction today for starting lineup by Big 12 play is:

Momcilovic is too skilled offensively to not start, but he probably wont at the beginning of the year.

King at ony 6'7 playing the 5 could be interesting, but he's a junkyard dog and very capable.

Every year but one since 2012 there has been a team in the final four that is a 7 seed or worse.

Volunteered at my kid's school carnival. They were awesome with all the kids. Couldn't have been nicer and more humble. Great representatives of Iowa State!

Has anyone replaced a patio door lately? Any places you'd recommend? I have an old French door that is kind of rotting a bit. I'm not looking for anything spectacular, but is the main door that I use. And any idea what it costs to get something like that, with installation?

Our favorite coach from LSU almost seems to make a charicature of herself with her outfits. Anything to draw attention to herself, I guess.

Three Iowa State recruits made the Iowa Elite team posted by the Register. Audi Crooks, Aili Tanke, and Kelsey Joens were all honored. OU signee Sahara Williams also made the Elite team.

I thought the motel was great. Close to Fanfest and BOK.

Small bar in the motel that you could relax and have a drink with other Cyclones.

Parking was fantastic, in the motel and never had to move it and thought it was reasonable

Things I didn't like.
Options for food seemed limited, but we didn't venture very far from BOK and ALoft motel.

Biggest disappointment every year is the seats. We are in the nose bleed of upper deck and in the corner and there were lots of seats in the lower bowl that I don't think were ever sat in. I don't know if sponsors get the seats and never resell or give them out, but this seems to be common for many NCAA wrestling that I have been at. This year seemed like more that normal.

This is my 1st tournament since Covid, so is it worse now that the tickets are on the phone and no hard copies? There were basically no scalpers selling tickets. So transferring tickets right ahead of a session is kind of a pain.

But I always find a beer and enjoy talking to Cyclones and wrestling fans!

Kansas City is going to be awesome in 2024!!!
