How luggage is handled across the world

I flew last week and had a window seat right where the luggage was offloaded. The workers at both airports resembled the Japanese shown in this video. I have never seen bags being thrown like that last clip. Seems like all these clips were selectively chosen for a reason.
I agree. I wonder how much that job pays, because that just Looks like a miserable job.

My passport used to get all those stamps, now with electronic entry that is gone. But my memories of watching the boarding and luggage loading is like you described remains. Been very fortune with my luggage being undamaged and never lost though I did lose my cell phone on a flight and it was promptly returned with a $27 charge for finding, handing, and shipping.

I'm heading to Australia next month for a month. My worst fear is they lose my luggage.
I somewhat got over this phobia by having my luggage lost last fall due to the initial flight being delayed and not landing in time for the connection to get my stuff on board. It was delivered at no cost by the airline at 1 AM to my hotel. There were like 40 of us in the collection area who ended up in Southwest's customer service office.

Luggage occasionally ends up in the wrong place (particularly if there is a tight layover), and airlines, at least the non-budget ones, have a good process for getting it to you quickly. It is very rarely lost. Pack toiletries and a days worth of clean clothes in your carry-on, then, in your very best Paul Hogan voice, say to yourself, “No worries, mate.”

Obviously, you have never flown on Air Canada.

You just knew the U.S. was gonna the worst by a mile

Yeah, the luggage tossing is one thing, however they severely crossed the line when they kept tossing luggage that slid out of the cart onto the ground on the other side. I can handle beat-up luggage, however losing luggage being sloppy is unacceptable.
