What’s going on in the Big 12 and beyond? I expand and explain every Sunday in Postscripts at Heartland College Sports, your home for independent Big 12 coverage. This week, I’m on vacation, checking out The Avett Brothers at Red Rocks outside of Denver (if you’re around, say Hi). But, before I...

I didn't mind Heartland's individual grades, but I'll never know how they didn't give him a better overall grade. Dude gets an A from me for sure.
A long time Cyclone and one of the original Power of the Pops guys - Dale Striegle is in a tough battle. Has colon cancer and not doing well. He could sure use all the good vibes from Cyclone Nation. I’m headed to Iowa City to see him today.
Well…I’ve been put in charge of setting up golf for a family get together in Branson in a couple of weeks. Anyone played down there/have any suggestions?
I’ve been looking today and seems pretty expensive. Might have narrowed it down to Pointe Royal Golf Village or Ledgestone Country Club, but if there is something else in that range that I’m missing, I’m all ears.
Williams & Blum look ahead to Big 12 football media days, that will go down this week in Arlington, Texas. How will Matt Campbell approach Iowa State's gambling situation with the media? What questions do our guys have about the 2023 Cyclones? Plus, Williams & Blum discuss the four new schoo
Does anyone know when single tickets will be for sale for duals particularly the Iowa dual? I renewed my season ticket last week, but might need an extra ticket for the Iowa dual. TIA
Welcome to the Cyclone Fanatic Comedy Movie Tournament Selection Show.
This bracket was developed by a committee of seven posters with a diverse backgrounds and ages. Because of this our field of 68 selected comedies were chosen from more than 150 that were submitted for consideration.
Tournament voting will begin starting tomorrow. Instead of having a separate thread and poll for every “game,” each round, from play-in to the championship, will have a separate thread. Additional details about the process will be included with each round’s thread.
“THE DUAL” is a multi-episode documentary featuring a classic college wrestling dual meet that originally aired live on Iowa Public Television in 1986.
Anyone else ever have at least one UFO/UAP experience before? I know some people will probably come in this thread and scream “tin foil hat!” But matter of fact the universe is much too large for us to be the only half way intelligent life.
Anyways, my story goes back to about 2011. Buddy and I were just hanging out one night probably was 12:30AM or so when we walked to the back deck to let my dog outside. Right as we walk out I look up and there is the brightest white light I have ever seen just above the tree line hovering that stretched all the way down behind the neighborhood houses. In a blink of an eye it shot up and was gone. Just gone like that. The whole experience made me feel strange as I couldn’t explain what the hell I just saw. I can’t really describe what it was other than just a circular bright ass white light. A light that wouldn’t be a drone or anything close to that as it was just way too bright and extraordinary. And a drone wouldn’t shoot off that fast and just disappear into what seemed thin air. Thankfully my friends and family are open minded and didn’t think I was a lunatic telling them about the experience. Actually once I mentioned the experience a lot of other friends and family shared some of their experiences as well.
Anyone else at Midnight Madness? What the hell is up with no beer?? It's overall been lamer since they moved it from downtown, but I kinda thought its whole identity was a fun after party with beers.
Checking off another wish today. Going to Yankee stadium to watch a game in person there. NYC and all the sights, Broadway play and Statue of Liberty. NYC is a true melting pot with every language and every nationality, and not the dangers that are portrayed.
-Played last week and saw a hole in one par (buddy hooked first one OB). We bought him beers.
-When I was in college, I was playing a best shot tourney with some older guys and one of them had their foot dangling out of the cart and it clipped the curb, completely shattered his ankle, and thrust him forward so hard that he broke his collarbone as well. He was the sober one of the group too!
-Family member claims to have won Master’s practice round tickets in the lottery and didn’t go because he didn’t want to use PTO. Not sure I believe it.
What are the craziest things you’ve done or witnessed on the course?
As the antithesis to another thread:
Name three Cyclone basketball greats to come out of nowhere and do way more than you ever expected at some point in their careers. To get it started I will go with
1. Senior year LaFester Rhodes... Don't tell me you saw that coming.
2. Jeff Hornacek... Walk-on to Big Eight and NBA Great
3. Tyrese Haliburton... Too Skinny and should redshirt to Cyclone assist record and his NBA Payday
Interested to see what everyone else thinks, and to remember and recognize some of our best.
