WR Position

Reynold's had 13 catches for 72 yards in 3 games. 5.5 yards per catch. Williams had 7 catches for 85 yards in those same to 3 games. 12.1 yards per game. Reynold's had more catches but Jake was more productive, which is all that matters. If you take away the NDSU game, Reynold's had an amazing 7 catches for 19 yards against Iowa. An incredibly horrible 2.7 average. But don't let facts get in the way of Jake Williams hate.

Everyone always gushes about Iowa's possession receivers (Ed Hinkel, Trey Stross, etc.), and when ISU finally gets not just one, but two of these guys in Williams and Lenz, everyone counts them out.

I hope everyone just keeps counting Jake out. The dude is a football player and ISU's second best receiver. He will start in the fall and be just as productive as last year.

Facts? ISU threw the screen pass to Reynolds on every play and Iowa was all over it. He had to dance around guys just to get 2.7 yards.

There is a reason the coaches talk Reynolds up more than any other WR and a reason that he started the season.

And who gushed over Trey Stross? He didn't do anything at Iowa

For Reynold's being a guy who could take a screen pass and turn it into a 20 yards gain, he sure never did it when he did play last year. The only reason the coaches talk about Reynold's is because the press keeps asking when he will play so everyone can see if he will live up the ridiculous hype around him.

And by the way, Stross had 31 catches for 414 yards last year, a 13.4 average. Just pathetic.

For a guy who played 4 years Stross's # where not good at all.

And you are dead wrong about Reynolds. Watch a press conference following a practice. Herman mentions him first when talking about a guy that can make a play. Says how he goes out and catches the ball.

I like how you are basing everything off of 2 games last year in a brand new offense. Reynolds will start again this year over Williams.

Whatever, dude. If you want to ignore the facts, go ahead. Reynold's may start come August, but he will be starting behind Williams and Darks.

Past experience is the greatest predictor of future success. Thats not to say he can't do it, but ISU already has 2 WR's who have proven themselves with past success.

See that's just not true at all. Last year we ranked 94th in receiving yards out of 119 teams in the country. Our WR's couldn't get open and get seperation

Relative to other teams I agree. But the best that ISU currently has is Darks and Williams. They have proven themselves much more than any other WR on the team. After that, its a crapshoot.

Money WILL start, and the coaches WANT him to start.

Any coach will prefer to play a heavily recruited 4-star player over any walk on. The 4-star will get every break, and second and third chances. It is truly his job to lose.

Don't believe me? fine. but its the truth.

Because others were hurt!

Was Brian Peterson better than Wesley Johnson because he was starting while Wes was hurt?

Clones85, quit arguing with the guy, he obviously doesn't understand what you are saying and obviously doesn't understand how football works.
