If Hoke is interested you hire him. It didn't work out at Michigan, and maybe the pressure got to him. Who knows, but if he wants to come in and prove he can Coach, give him the challenge. It's not like there is a ton of similarity between Michigan and ISU's football culture.
Ok first post for me and I'm sure it has been said but I'm at work and can't read everything until tonight. But im dying to know why Greg schiano isn't being mentioned? Out of our league? Not interested ? What's the deal...
Miles is the best choice. Can you see him losing to KSU every year?
All he has to do is win 6-7 games next year and he will have ISU looking like the same type of program he left at OSU over a decade ago. He inherits some nice pieces on O and a good dual threat QB along with a stud young RB and nice receivers. Can always coach a D up. Low risk upgrade to Rhoads. Anyone better and younger becomes a blue blood hot seat candidate if they have 1 good year and potentially get poached.

Hoke and there is a surprise candidate that has interest in the job. Not sure if anything will come of it, but he would be a great hire. Can't wait to see how things play out.
That's IF they'll take the job. Again, Pollard can offer anyone he wants. He isn't holding a gun to their head making them take the job.
The fact that there are more openings than normal doesn't mean you can't get the candidate you want. It just means it costs you more money.
yes. But it also means that the candidates will have more choices. If Illinois offers 2 million and Iowa state offers 2.5 million, 75% of coaches would take the job they think leads to more wins. And that's Illinois.
You win with line play both defensive and offensive.. Ed Orgeron would get you guys that ISU could never sniff before.
You need great players to make great coaches, it normally does not work the other way around. Especially at an ISU.
Is he risky, yes you might end up in NCAA hot water, but for a school that does not go to bowl games anyway I am not sure what more the NCAA could do to ISU, that is on field performance has already taken care of.
Guy is one of the best lineman recruiters in the country and I would wager he could even overcome the negative perception of the ISU football.
For the last time Jeff Hornacek isn't coming back to Ames!
I would like to see Matt Campbell from Toledo on the list. Would be a good fit here!
