Is this like a good surprise or something we will all groan at? I hope you mean something the fans and program will be happy with.
No way can Hoke be the guy, Rhoads was a better fit in Ames than him
Why not Craig Bohl the former NDSU coach that schooled us and won three national championships not the current one NDSU coach

Kind of figured it out after the salaries thing. Then a little birdie told me it was a joke, I can't reveal my sources though.I think it's a joke..
Obviously, the new coach will likely make a salary within that range of numbers.

The guy who is 1-10 in his 2nd season at Wyoming?
Pfft....1-10...in year 2. What a loser. I'm sure that there's not an AD in the country that would allow him to stick around until year 6 and pull a 2-10.
I do now! sorryYou realize that Bohl lost to Rhoads and it is the current coach (Kileman) that pounded ISU.
but I thought we were aiming so much higher. Everyone wants this job.
He wasn't that great at Ball State.

Surprises are the best! Can't reveal who it is, but I'm told his salary requirements would range between 1.8-4.5 million.
My only issue is he couldn't win at Michigan, I know Michigan doesn't have the easiest games ever, but you should always be able to get 6 wins at least. If you can't get to a bowl at Michigan, you won't be about to get to a bowl at Iowa State.Lets look at his record starting in his 3rd year there. I choose 3rd year because by then his first recruiting class would be RS Sophomores and actually contributing.
In years 3-6 at Ball State, he was 28-21 overall, 22-9 in the conference with a conference championship. Factor in that 2-3 times per year Ball State is a "bought victory" for a P5 school, and I would say that's not too shabby of a record. Ball State isn't exactly known as a school with much tradition either.
