Will the BIG10 Reverse Their Decision?

Ah yes, this **** again. Anyone speaking the truth and not being in denial or engaging in conspiracy theories claiming that the death tolls are being fabricated is 'cheering it on'. You said the same thing when cases started skyrocketing after the premature reopening this summer and the death tolls followed. You were wrong then. You've been wrong all along. And you never learn.

Frankly, the behavior you and others like you have engaged in collectively that has put us where we are at as a country is far more offensive than 'name-calling'.

Were you one of the people mad we banned flights to and from countries with outbreaks?

Well obviously you’re going to deny it now.

Provisional death rates from the CDC. Ignore that the curves drop to zero at the end as states are slow to get death certificates to the CDC.

First graph is Covid 19 deaths sorted by by age group.
Second graph is flu, Covid 19 and pneumonia combined deaths sorted by age group.

I didn't hear anyone screaming about the 46,000 deaths per week from Pneumonia and the flu in February.

CDC Provisional deaths Feb 1 to current

If we had 46,000 deaths from the flu/pneumonia every week, we'd be hearing about it. Luckily, that's not what that chart or information are saying.

If there's 60,000 deaths/year between the two, that's 164ish deaths/day averaged out.

It will be interesting to see where we need to be for that kind of line with Covid to really fully go back to normal.

Y'all are really obsessed with that China travel ban, even though it probably didn't do much effective. It came too late to matter, a bunch of travel was still allowed anyway from there and other countries that already had it, and most importantly nothing else was done for months, despite the intelligence folks ringing the alarms on this way back into last year. This resulted in us having one of the worst responses of any country in the world. A travel ban as part of a comprehensive playbook is entirely different than slapping a travel ban and thinking that'll solve everything.

Maybe old news or has been corrected... bizarre

Ezike said that the state is being careful to make sure to weed out deaths where the patient had COVID-19, but died in a manner completely detached from the virus, such as gunshot wounds or motor vehicle crashes.

“There are also some additional deaths that happen in someone who happened to be COVID positive, but where the COVID infection had nothing to do with the deaths,” she said. “So we are at IDPH trying to remove those obvious cases where the COVID diagnosis was not the reason for the death. If there was a gunshot wound, if there was a motor vehicle accident, we know that that was not related to the COVID positive status.

Not true in Illinois. If you died in a car accidident and tested positive for covid, then it was a covid death per their executive director of public health with Jay P at her side.
You’re going to have to provide a source for that claim. Way back in May Dr. Ezike state’s that they were specifically making sure to not record deaths from COVID 19 of it was obvious the death was caused by something else.

edit: I see this has been covered already.

NCAA says CBB could start at Thanksgiving. So how will the HoKKKs feel when they can watch ACC/BIG12/SEC play football games around Thanksgiving, and watch B1G CBB games but not HoKKKs play football? That is if the Presidents will allow B1G CBB.

Also saw where the CFP playoffs will be fall football and not repeating for spring football.

If these don't make them pause I don't know what will.

I'm not sure how the Big Ten could play winter sports when the virus will likely be worse since they already cancelled fall sports. Bowlsby had a comment that said that if the Big 12 cancels fall sports mid season, there likely won't be spring sports either.
