That depends upon your opinion of strip malls and tract housing.

In the Twin Cities, the best Asian restaurant I've found is in a suburban strip mall set near tract housing across the street from a Caribou (because Caribou is to Minnesota what Starbucks is to the rest of the world).



note: The best Asian restaurant in the Twin Cities is probably a pretty low bar.

I laughed, all in good fun. Seriously though, Hickman and Hwy 141 are in some kind of competition for worst designed and most unsafe road award. Purposely didn't buy a house in either of those towns for that specific reason.

I moved to Waukee 5 years ago when you could still blow by Hy-Vee at 55mph, I drive "spirited" in general and even I thought that was starting to get a little nuts. Just in the last 5 years we've probably doubled the amount of stop lights it feels like.

They use less fuel, they are safer so people don't get t-boned, and they are faster than a four-way stop. The only reason people don't like them is cuz they don't want to learn how to use them.

Waukee is seriously the worst and I don't understand the draw. There are zero conveniences in that town and no easy ways to get in and out of town.. The school district (like it's older hairier nut sack of a brother Ankeny) is set up for damn near infinite growth which makes it even less appealing IMO.

Have you tried using a road?

i submitted this when they were looking for a name for the new high school. Suggested to go with Miners to honor the history. Nope - instead paid some marketing firm some stupid $ to come up with the Northwest Wolves.
