Waukee is short for Milwaukee? News to me. I lived near Milwaukee for years and dont recall it ever being called Waukee. Or is this something unique to the Milwaukee Railroad? Maybe it is what was nicknamed the Waukee.

Having lived in Denver and Austin, TX, complaining about traffic in Waukee is laughable.

I having lived in Waukee for several years now, I do have some observations:
It appears that people think Hickman is the Autobahn.
The shooting range gets lively on the weekend mornings as the cracks are clearly audible and prolific.

During the summer months, the line to get through the Dairy Queen drive-thru wraps around the block most nights. They do love their ice cream here.

There are an annoyingly large number of Hawkeye fans in my neighborhood. Thankfully, there is one house down the street that puts out large Cyclone flags on game days.

Our son plays soccer out at VSA from time to time and there is nothing like the sound of AR15's screaming freedom during a post goal celebration.
