Our fans are great at being loud as **** when it really matters.
OP is right though, when we go on a run we get loud and when the opposing coach calls timeouts we get STOKED and go nuts, and then as soon as play begins again (this is where it bothers me a bit) the whole crowd immediately sits down unless it is the last minute or two of a close game. At least stand up and cheer until the other team scores or we do something bad. The cut in participation in the game is absolutely immediate when the ball is inbounded.
There is no stadium where coaches get more bang for their buck calling TO after a run than in Hilton.
That being said, our fans show up way better than almost all fanbases, almost never stay quiet in an important late game situation, and we cheer in support during a dry spell better than anyone IMO.
Seriously? Just not even close and wrong....
Under 4 timeout is when we congregate on the concourse... under 1 minute is when we actually leave the arena.
Us old people also realize that it's just a game. The course of human history is not going to change whether the Cyclones win or lose. Just keeping perspective.
Does that excuse apply to student attendance as well?
I would prefer if you left under the 2 minute mark, not 1. I dont know if you crawl to your vehicle or what, but I still have to wait for you to get out of the parking lot after I spend the added 178 seconds watching until the final buzzer. I thought you were in a hurry?
Kudos to the Hilton team for selecting "Turn Down For What?" as the under four minute timeout sound filler, its a banger that screams go crazy, but it got me wanting to know, To the late game concourse watchers... What exactly are you turning down for?

I will never understand why so many people leave early. A few, sure, but not droves. Cheering the win is a big part of the overall experience. And leaving when we are down by only a few points like against KU is insane.
Sometimes, it seems that the start of a song quiets the crowd. Whereas if they just let the crowd go, the cheering might continue through the time out.
No deal; the game is still in doubt at 2 minutes... I don't want to miss any of the action.
We are in a hurry, that is why we leave with 1 minute left. If we didn't we would be stuck leaving with people like you who stay to the end for some reason.
Did you know Melvin is from Canada and so is Wiggens?
Because we actually want to watch the game, and not block the view of anyone else! That, grasshopper, is what is known as manners. Try practicing some occasionally.
Ok, I'm old, but this tired response bothers me. The reason you stay to the end is because the game is not over. I'll bet you left The Avengers right before the final fight too.
Why back in our day, we didn't have any fancy Niangs or Ejims. We had Bryan Heger and Fallencheck and Uthoff .... AND WE LIKED IT....
Did you forget?
