Which programs will be knocking on Mr. Rhoads door?

I don't even want to imagine him leaving. Rhoad's doesn't seem like the guy that would Chizz us all.

I'm actually hoping he's our Hayden Fry.

Not that our team for the past 10 years looks anything like the hawkeyes of the 60s and 70s, but I think he's the guy to turn our program around. Its fully possible that within 5 years he'll have us going bowling every year(and bringing in way more donations  ). We just need to give him time. Don't worry about the next three years, they would be tough even with a team that could handily win the Big XII north in a good year. Instead, lets see what his teams look like in 6-7 years ,when he has a constant flow of people he recruited playing for him.

If we sought after CPR in the hiring process I would be more inclined to say that he may look to other programs if they came calling. Since he lobbied for this position hard and spurned away other programs that were interested in him for HC, I'm pretty confident that he'll stay here for a long while. We'll at least as long as he has the fan support.

Never say that a coach will never leave.

Exactly. Since he's become significant to us again recently after a lengthy absence, I'll cite Roy Williams as an example. I'll bet KU fans would have wagered their life savings he wasn't going anywhere until retirement...

who else was after him?

This.

I think everyone figured that with success, Chizik would leave for someplace better. No one ever thought he would leave with just 5 wins in 2 years.

Everyone thought Eustachy would retire here as well. Look how that worked out.

You never know how things will play out with coaches.

The list of schools that would love to have him: Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, A$M, ND, Auburn, PSU....... well just about everybody.

But he'll tell them, " sorry...... he's PROUD TO BE OUR COACH!!!!!!".

If Sanderson can leave us. Anyone can leave us. It's that simple. He was our golden boy and he left.
Now do I think Rhodes will leave? Probably not. However in this day and age I would not put anything past anyone. Nobody has any freakin loyalty any more.

Sanderson just went to school here, has no family here. Rhoads was born and raised here, and has ALOT of family here. There is a huge difference!

Sanderson wasn't a home grown product though. He was an Iowan for 4 years in college, and then a few more as a coach, so he had pretty shallow roots to the state and calling us home. CPR laid down significant roots growing up here and is truly at home, so I don't think you can really compare the 2 in terms of loyalty/attachment to the school.

Will it happen? How soon?
He is 6-5. right now nobody is coming to knock on his door. They will wait to see if he can maintain and improve on that record. It will be three years at the earliest and that will require a special year like 12-1. Even then, I think he stays.

This thread is about interest of other programs in our head coach. Larry wasn't lured away. He was run off, which I personally believe was a huge mistake by ISU but that is a TOTALLY different subject.

Sure, CPR might leave but it would only be after ISU did everything possible to keep him (just like we did for Cael).

Are you kidding? He's not going anywhere!!!!!!!! ISU loves him, it's his backyard... A VERY GOOD FIT FOR EVERYBODY CONCERNED... it happens once in a great while! Sorta like McDermott!!! Good days ahead at ISU!

Rhoads aint leaving anytime soon. Maybe after the shine wears off and we are back to being the laughing stock of the big 12
