Either way I doubt we are getting in the Big 10 because we have a bunch of starters coming back next year.

Nobody looks at ISU's program other than ISU fans as one that can sustain the success it has had the last few years. The national perception is that Campbell will leave in a year or two and ISU will go back to being terrible.

So by your reasoning Houston and TCU are really valuable. So do they go to the Big10 or SEC? No they are essentially directional schools that have no appeal to anyone. No brands. A&M and Texas already get the Texas viewers.

Yes. Thank you. Nebraska had a top 10 football program like 20 years ago and that was enough to get them into the big 10. Not saying we go there, but of the remaining big XII we are certainly near the top.

Nebraska is one of the winningest programs in the history of college football. Historically top 10. There isn't one program that stays at the very top forever. Not even Alabama. They disappeared for almost a decade. Not saying Nebraska is going to get back to dominating anytime soon but they'll always have a certain amount of clout whether anyone likes it or not.

I would actually love to peek into the Big 10’s quickbooks and see how much value Nebraska and Rutgers have actually brought to the league. My guess is that it is far less than projected. Especially with cable revenue cratering. People want to watch teams that are relevant and not living of their glory days 30 years ago.

I have no idea. Nebraska had a massive athletic budget before they even went to the Big 10.
They probably should have made a play at Kleiman. I actually think Craig Bohl would have been a good move for them a few years earlier.
As an ISU fan who is as fearful as any right now of our prospects moving forward, even I was surprised by both national news articles and just general Twitter how much love there us for ISU to join the Big 10. Sure, there are still plenty immediately dismissing the idea like everyone would have done 10 years ago, but there is way more in the pro camp than I would have guessed. My how things have apparently changed. I'd almost swear others, including Big 10 fans, are more optimistic about ISU's chances than me.
Just remember we're not pissed at Texas and Oklahoma. We're pissed at UT and OU. Our (former?) conference brethren at OSU, TTU, TCU and even Baylor (who I care not one whit about) are on the outs too.
Also thinking CMC being from Ohio with those roots probably gets a bit of good press back there and could nudge a few naysayers into the "ISU to the B1G" camp. Probably not a significant factor, but certainly doesn't hurt.

If we continue to improve at the rate we have we will be a shoo in for a big 10 spot in another 10 years.
I just think conference realignment is going to be much different this time around than it was in 2011. Conferences will be looking at a different criteria. ISU has a great resume compared to the rest of the league and Pollard interviews well. We are in better shape than a lot of people think.
Big 10 would be a great landscape for ISU recruiting. Of course there is Campbell in Ohio and Otz has amazing connections already in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Chicagoland has been good to ISU basketball too.
It was so long ago that Nebraska was good they ran the Triple Option as their base offense. Amazing to think about.
They were throwing the ball the last few years they were in the Big 12. At least one of those years they made the Big 12 title game.
