Gotta go with Big 12 champs. Doing that would equal three months of wins/bliss and CF visits, national publicity, and end with 1 or 2 seed regardles of the Big 12 tourney results. Elite 8 run is tempting but as others have stated that can be achieved with good matchups in the tourney and one would think having the highest seed would allow for that (2001 season disappointment noted).
The issue is that we don't know what comes next. I voted reg season champs for the reason of at least we would end KU's reign. That's enough for me. If Elite 8 is the only spot we get, I still would rather be the Big XII top dog. Upsets happen in the tourney, the reg season shows you sustained success.

Regular season title. Ending KU's streak would feel glorious. Going through an 18 game grind is tougher than getting to the Elite 8, especially in the new "upset age", being the best in your conference on a consistent basis is the first step to being the best in the nation. We can't skip over that step in the development of this program.
That made me laugh (in a good way). It's why I framed the question the way I did, assuming all are possible, which would you want to guarantee. I agree that the Big XII Tourney is lowest in priority for me, but it's a fun atmosphere. I think it was Coach Eustachy who talked about winning the regular season title being so much more significant than the tourney title. I think wining the regular season title makes all the others possible.
You are losing the forest through all the trees. Being in the Elite Eight and position to make the Final Four is why we are wanting the program to develop.
