What would you rather guarantee?

Elite 1000x times over. Carries so much more weight nationally. Look at the recognition Witchita State has gotten this year, and last year, and Butler has gotten a few years ago from making deep runs like that. Without those, they are just another good regular season team that can't do anything when it matters...

I know I am not in the majority but winning the Big 12 outright is the best guarantee and here's why:

1. The Big 12 is stacked this year, run the table and win the b12 outright that says a ton about the program.
2. Winning the big 12 outright probably has us ranked in the top 5.
3. I hate Kansas
4. The question is which one do you garuntee, a guarantee for one doesn't mean the other option isn't possible. So Elite 8 or Final 4 is not off the table.
5. I hate Kansas, except when they say nice things about Johnny Orr.

All of you that are choosing Elite 8, would you still answer that way if ISU went 5-13 in regular season conference, got hot in the tourney and got in that way. Then went on a run? Sure, we would get to the Elite 8 because we were hot, but would that really help recruiting as much as a regular season title? I think most that say Elite 8 are thinking that we finish in the top 4 of the league, and knock off some big boys en route to that position. This poll is just too tough without the storyline that accommodates the ends.

If the question is, if all storylines were the same, where would you like to be, then unequivocally we would all answer Elite 8. You would be saying that we won the Big XII season and tourney and finish at the Elite 8. But that obviously isn't where we were going with this question. So we have to know, did we finish 2nd in both? Did we finish 8th in the league and won the tourney? (Yes, I've been watching too much Breaking Bad and can't just answer a question simply anymore...)

I'm going with the Big 12 Tourney because it is so volatile (anything could happen). It would be a shame to win the Big 12 Regular Season and then not win the Big 12 Tourney. Plus, winning the Big 12 Tourney is the way I want us to enter the NCAA tournament. Our seed in the NCAA tournament would be affected by not winning the Big 12 Tourney.

I think winning the Big 12 Tournament will improve our seed in the NCAA tournament, especially if we win it convincingly after a Big 12 season that might include some losses for us.
