Honestly, the biggest thing keeping me in the state is going to ISU games. Truth.
I shot water out my nose when I read this....The fact it's touching Missouri and Nebraska.
It really bugs me that in Marshalltown, horses are forbidden to eat fire hydrants (yes, this is a real law)
Unless you are being a jackwagon on the fourth you wont ever get in trouble. Its just frowned upon. Like drunk driving.
1. Hawkeye Fans/Trailer courts
2. Weak Beer
3. No using rifles for deer season.
4. Mesquitos
5. Bitter *** cold weather that seems to last from November to April 20th.
But all this aside - I miss living in Iowa (except the Hawkeye fans).
#2 hasn't been applicable in several years. They raised the beer limit to 12% in 2010. You can't get 3.2 beer in Iowa any more.
My main illogical law is open container. As long as the driver is sober, why does it matter if others in the car are drinking? Its not illegal to drive drunk people around, and we allow open containers in vehicles operated for compensation/living quarters of RVs. I don't see the difference between that and regular transportation. If someone is driving over the legal limit, they're still committing OWI and can be handled accordingly.
Agreed with that. It made some sense before we had the ability to quickly run a breathalyzer, but with that available its easy to quickly determine that it is or is not the driver who is drinking that beer.
Also don't like the catchall 'public intoxication' law that doesnt even require actual drunkenness, just the appearance of.
I would add Ashton Kutcher and Tom Arnold.
The University of Iowa Athletics, that stupid Parrot-sqawk logo, the colors black & gold together and T-Shirt (tavern-sqawk) Iowa fans that have no affiliation with the U of I.
The University of Iowa sucks.
Absolutely lousy fishing in central Iowa.
