What did McKay d this time?

It's funny to see all of the people that weren't at Hilton saying Jameel had a ****** attitude at the game yesterday. Probably 5 times he stood up waving his arms to get the crowd involved. Chatted it up with teammates a lot, saw him say lots of encouraging things to Burton before & during the game. Don't judge him because he was sitting on the bench in some sort of improper manner.

Because Prohm will be here for at least 2-3 years minimum and will have 100x more influence on our program (good or bad) than McKay.

In sports you need a head coach that is in control and does things his way. If McKay can't get on board with Prohm's expectations it's his bad.

Regardless of who has proven more.

Also, I would add that McKay quit his previous school after one practice so I certainly wouldn't want to choose him in a McKay vs Prohm war.

It could be that Hoiberg leaving hurt McKay more than some, which is understandable. If there were a big problem with Prohm I think we'd see it in the way other players are reacting, but that doesn't seem to be an issue. I agree that Prohm should earn some good will, but he also is the coach and hasn't given us reason to doubt him on a large scale.

So, did you see his attitude and actions in the pregame warmup?

I couldn’t agree more. What could be more dishonorable than McKay’s behavior to date? His attitude and actions are writing checks his play and performance can’t cash.

I saw in the pregame warmup Monte tried to give Georges a high five. But Georges' high five didn't have the same energy as Monte's high five. Clearly either Georges is not buying in, or there is a rift between Georges and Monte.

Prohm is responsible for this, and this shows that he is a poor manager of these kids. And poor managers are poor coaches.

Fred's fault really, because if Fred hadn't abandoned the program leaving kids with bad attitudes, we would not have had to hire Prohm.

Ultimately this is because of JP, who's poor relationship with Fred caused Fred to leave.

As we all know Prohm will be judged on the next 3 years with his class and it will not look good if his best year was with fred's guys. A bad way to look at it as a coach but from what I see and hear his decisions have not been good or justified when you are talking about kids and the way they may act in college.

I agree that Fred leaving hurt McKay more than the others. I also think that you do see it a little with the others. It is small and they are much more mature, but I don't think they have bought in 100%. It is probably more like 99%.

See this is right and wrong at the same time. One important factor in deciding who we hired was what they could do with this team. Normally you are right that the coach is going to have much more influence and even still with us that is true, but Prohm was hired to succeed with this team, and the future. While Prohm needs to do what he thinks is best he also needs to work with these players, and find some compromise.

Also if I remember right McKay quit because Buzz wasn't going to use him how he expected. Now last year I think proved that McKay was right that he isn't a traditional center.



The other thing that someone pointed out and Chris touched at during the game. I haven't gone back to watch it so I am not 100% sure, but it seemed like when we got on a run and got out to a lead we would try and get people a rest and the chemistry was thrown off. We can't play with both Ashton and Cooke it just isn't working. Some of that is we don't have the bench, but I feel like you have to try something. If you aren't playing McKay try Carter for a minute or two. He hasn't killed us when he has played. I don't get what Prohm doesn't like about him. My point is I'm all behind Prohm because he is our coach, but he has nowhere near the goodwill the Fred had and that is how some are acting.
 
At one point the line up in the first half was Morris, thomas, Cooke, Ashton and niang. So the best rebounder on the floor was thomas. Shock of all shocks this coincided with tcu going on their run.

I took that as very very positive, not negative. Communication between human beings is very very hard. especially on social media.

Yeah the tweet is positive, I agree. But it's just empty words that mean nothing, because we all know it's definitely about McKay, and not the team. Wish it wasn't that way though.
