West Virginia Player Attacks Fan

I just don't know how you'd ever prove that.

Best solution? Keep fans and participants apart. I wouldn't be surprised in the near future if Jamie is writing a check to the conference every time fans end up on the field or the floor (basketball).

And I'm guessing he'd be happy to if it meant winning big games like this. Hell, I'd donate $20 for the cause.

A crowd should never chant overrated.
Its basically deminishing that fact you upset a good team. By chanting overrated,
you are saying that team isn’t that good anyways and shouldn’t be ranked, so our team didn’t beat a great team but rather they just beat an average team.
Disagree, it would be so baller to chant overrated as a team is running onto the field and then kick their butts up and down the field for 60 minutes.

LSU, Clemson, and Oregon all rush the field too. I guess we're in pretty good company;)

Those fans cost LSU a $100,000 dollar fine. Why? because the SEC realizes that it is dangerous. Many concerts used to be general admission until people started getting trampled in the stampedes. Now almost all are reserved seating.

No way can you delay a student section rush. If its going to happen, it will happen. There just isn’t enough security to hold back thousands of students with emotions running high.
Delay? If anyone takes this seriously enough, you’ll be watching the game through a ten foot chain-li—er, Cyclone fence.

You act like $100K is anything more than pocket change, especially for LSU.

There were multiple examples of stuff like this. The personal foul on us towards the end of the game was our O-Lineman pulling one of their guys off Montgomery as that guy kept pushing on Montgomery well after the whistle. On one of Butler's catches across the middle going South, after the tackle was completed (with the help of another defender obviously) the defender that got beat took a swipe up towards Butler's upper torso. He could have been trying to swat the ball out of his hands, but regardless it was well after the tackle and whistle. Stuff like this happens all the time and our players are guilty of it sometimes too, but for some reason it really stood out to me when I was watching the replay on Sunday.

On that poke to Butler - that really stood out to me in real time... Looked like a real wicked upper cut that could have done some damage.

I have two kids at Iowa State, I am glad they were both able to experience rushing the field. I never got that opportunity when I was in school.

WVU needs to get over the *** beating they took Saturday. It is all sour grapes. WVU is one of the least classy teams/schools I have seen year after year.

Didn't read this whole thread, however, if rushing the field is that big of a problem, move the students to the Southeast sections so they are on the visitors side, allowing the visiting team to get off the field without having to go through students. Also, would be on the loudest part of the field with the bowled section. Either way, WV, good riddance, your coach is JA. Always has been, always will be. SIDE NOTE: Met several WV fans when we won the Big 12 in KC a couple of years ago, they were very nice and complimentary fans. Far nicer than a Kansas fan that was ever met in KC.

First off, WV fans are about the worst in the country, and it's well known too, so it's pretty hypocritical for Dana to get all upset.

His players are mostly thugs who come onto the field Saturday night BEFORE the game even starts and are chanting FU to our student section. So how do they think our student section will treat them after that?

WV fans pointed lasers at our kicker and holder before. They attacked Wally Burnham. Like I said, they are well known as some of the worst fans in the country.

With all that being said, something should be done to make the field rushing safer IMO. I noticed walking out of the NE side from the field Saturday that the fence over there at the bottom of the hillside was completely broken and flat on the ground. It's probably a good thing it did snap because if not someone would have been squashed to death most likely.

One good thing I guess is that there isn't another home game this year that would deserve a field rush.... not even close. If we rush any other game this year, that will be a huge embarrassment.

Assuming it was a sellout, thats $1 and change for every person there. I'd bet they're OK.

I'm pretty sure $100,000 would more than pocket change to any number of assistant (and in some cases head) coaches at ISU. Would rather have it in their pockets than distributed to the rest of the Big 12.

This is a stupid post.

I've actually attended a game in Morgantown. I thought the fans were the some of the nicest and coolest I've interacted with and I've gone to games at ND, Northwestern, Nebraska, Purdue, Penn State, Miami, and UCLA among others.

Surprised that Randy Pete didn't take this opportunity to break his other leg and demand an apology from the University for the students pushing him to the ground...
....again. O.o
