West Virginia Player Attacks Fan

When Ohio State students rush the field, yes it even happens at one of the most prestigious football schools in the nation, they protect the uprights at all costs. Something like what is done here to protect the visiting team until they are off the field could be one compromise to create a safe but exciting environment.

Thank you for posting this image! I get so tired of the advice to "act like you've been there before".

I will say, it does have to be in the right situation for them to do it. When I was in grad school, they rushed after coming back against Russel Wilson and Wisconsin, but it was about the slowest thing I had ever seen, it was pretty sad. Then again, I was in school for the '05 rush against Iowa where it seemed like the entire stadium was on the field in seconds.

I agree that it shouldn't be routine or planned...it really needs to be organic, a result of the score, the competition, and the atmosphere in the stadium.

And sometimes, no rush is better than rushing - like the last time we beat KU at Hilton - their fans were actually pissed because no one rushed the court. :D

Because it is Akron. Not the #6 Team in the country that has a “supposed” Heisman Trophy candidate.

Wins over Top Ten Teams are not that common when you are not a blue blood. And now you want to take away the joy in celebration of rushing the field when the rare victories over Top Ten teams do occur? JFC.
Yeah only three in the last year and a half, like you said rare.

The Nebraska rush in 02 was way faster
