***Weekend Weather***

4-6 inches, West Des Moines could see more. Maybe all hell breaks lose, get your shovel ready.

Does it look like the snowfall could be moving a little north? Needing some snow to get the snowmobile out. Does Fonda have a shot?

//Not Iowa weather//

We just had a possible tornado close to College Station. 4-6 of rain in a 3 hour period in some areas of town (1.25" & 2.5" at the airport in two consecutive hours). Flash flooding at the cop shop has cop cars half way submerged. More rain forecasted for tonight. Some streets on campus have over 3 feet of standing water.

Local FexEx distribution facility lost it's roof due to the possible tornado. Hail up to egg size reported by a NWS employee in town. My Ph.D. research plots were right in the path of the major hail line. Wooo. It's going to be exciting tomorrow morning to check that out.

That sucks.

What's your research on Canola?

Thank God for beer.

Weed control as a winter crop in the south. It's typically a spring crop grown in the north (canada). So we are adjusting to new climate, weed spectrum, & soil type. People are considering growing it in rotation with winter wheat to break pest cycles and gain access to the biofuel (biodiesel) industry.

The beer is homebrew from my FIL & should be aged enough to drink after bottling at New Years.

Sounds interesting, good luck tomorrow... hopefully it's not too bad.

Already a nice dusting of snow here in Ankeny
Yeah I have a bad feeling about this little I-80 band that popped up...it feels too early to be accumulating. Sinking feeling that I could wake up to too much snow.

Still just flurries/drizzle though here by the airport.
