***Weekend Weather***

Pam on the dish solves the satellite going out.

I thought the decision on here long ago was SPAM on the satellite dish ...on a related note i have never had this problem, not sure why as mine is fully exposed without trees or a house blocking it, maybe that also helps, dont know.

Drove from Johnston to downtown and then from downtown out to Jordan creek. About 40-50mph. Lots of slush but nothing too crazy. In town there are some roads that are slick.

I did see someone downtown run a red light (one that had a camera:)) and then proceeded to run into the bridge and then roll up and cased it. Both front wheels were off the ground and he was trying to reverse it off the cement. For his own sake I hope it doesn't work because his front end will drop about 3 foot.

I prefer the windshield scraper/brush to Mediacom. Ten seconds to brush off the dish (only when it's heavy wet snow) + an extra $70 a month in my pocket seems like a fair trade.

I'm on the north side of Ankeny and our snow stopped maybe 20-30 minutes ago. Is it done for good? We appear to be in a little pocket without precip right now but I can't tell if we'll get hit again from the west, or possibly a little wraparound stuff from the east, or nothing more.

Things could change, of course, but it looks like you're in the clear now.

Looks like some dry air is eating this storm up. Just did my drive and walks, Id say at least 6 inches of very wet and heavy snow on the north side of Ankeny.

I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed. Probably only got 0.75 inch of wet, heavy snow in Ames, most of which has already melted.

I can do without the bitter chill of winter, but at least one snow would be good.

There's still a month and a half of winter left for you guys, there's still time.
