Weather for Tech - 6pm, Sub-20s

Guys on B12 XM radio said wear surgical gloves under your regulars, and it will make a ton on difference holding the heat in. Some sideline reporters wear scuba suits under their outwear, same rationale. Both interesting ideas.

Yep work outside a bunch latex gloves underneath your regular gloves work really well s long as the outer gloves stay dry. Don't take them off though because your hands will be sweaty and get cold really easy.

Sounds like zipping myself up in a sleeping bag will be no problem.

Wind was nasty walking the dog today. He peed on a hunk of snow, circled back to the area ten minutes later, and he was playing with an ice ball of his own urine.

I'm leaning towards attending, but if CMC runs a 4 and short shotgun snap hand off to the running back that fails and we are down by 7 or more I'm out of there. I don't need to suffer through that. Maybe stay till half due to respect for the band.
The QB keeper worked so well from shotgun too didn’t it?

I (sort of) remember tailgating for the 2013 KU game. Our TV LCDs froze up, and we had slushy Busch.
That was a really fun night and a fairly surreal environment.

Stadium half empty, 8 degrees at kickoff, nearly a full moon, and kids sledding on the hillsides. I think it was windy that day, but became still after sunset. Froze our asses off, but had a lot of fun. Especially helpful that ISU blew out KU in the 2nd half. IIRC, it rained on Wednesday then temps went into artic plunge and the field froze. ISU did a cleat change at halftime and it showed. KU didn't bring the right shoes for the conditions.

I'd much rather see a wildcat in that situation and just cut out the middle man altogether.

San Diego State up 21-10 @ New Mexico heading into the half on the 2nd coldest home game in Lobos history. 31 F at the moment. Better team is winning. Apparently, the beach boys are not bothered by the cold weather.

Cyclone Fans,

Due to unusually cold and snowy conditions this week, the following items are brought to your attention regarding conditions in Jack Trice Stadium:
  • Temperatures are expected to be much colder than normal on Saturday, with a temperature at kickoff near 17°F and a wind chill of 4°F. Wind chill temperatures will fall near or below 0°F by the end of the game. Please dress warm and exercise caution in these extreme cold conditions.
  • Stadium staff have focused on clearing pedestrian walkways throughout the week; however due to persistent below-freezing temperatures there will be patchy ice and snow in several areas throughout the stadium, parking lots, and sidewalks. Exercise caution.
  • The heavy, wet snow on Monday and subsequent temperatures left a layer of ice and snow on many of seats within the stadium.
    • Tomorrow, fans are allowed to bring seats, cushions and blankets into the stadium for their seating comfort.
  • For those that need to warm up, the Jacobson Building atrium is open to the public. There is access to the Jacobson Building off of the north concourse of the stadium.
You were right! Colder than a witches tat (sp), we used to say!

We can use any advantage and are not ashamed of giving our Texas Tech friends a little winter welcoming party in Ames later today!

Yeah, they were chasing everybody out of the student lot but we were like, "No thanks, our keg is right here." We stood there and watched the wall cloud drinking beer like a bunch of jackasses.

I was standing on the top of an RV drunkenly yelling for someone to show me where the ‘nado was. Legitimately a good thing I didn’t fall off and die.
Ah, the carefree frivolity of youth and beer!

If I EVER hear the "Weather Card" pulled by a Cyclone fan for the rest of my life, I will simply say OR post TT 14 Iowa State 10 on 11/19/2022. First guess. Every time someone says: "If a southern team came up here in November, blah, blah, blah..." Just gets on my last nerve. It is so not an issue. Good teams win. Bad teams lose. End of story. Said that my whole life, and I have tried to state that this week - in this thread many times. That's all! Go State! beat TCU (if there is winter weather in FW next Saturday!) / sarcasm
