We Will or CGC?

I know, I'm just saying that if someone wants to know that their dollars helped to boost overall MBB lets say, it will be harder to quantify since there will be a lot of people just donate with no restrictions. If they say a MBB player specifically or a MBB to help at big brothers/big sisters, then it would be much easier. I was treasurer of a decent sized non profit ambulance service and learned more than I cared to about that stuff.

That's where you have to trust that the not for profit is on the up and up.

From the conversations I have, we desperately need huge sums of NIL and in a damn hurry.

With that said, I completely understand those that do not give to it and have no problem whatsoever with that position, truly.

I would say give to NIL if you can and choose to. And if you don’t want to or have additional, give to CGC.
Can I ask what happens if that money doesnt come? Like we lose a player, miss a recruit, lose bigger donors, etc?

By now Ive learned that if you're saying something its probably due to a degree of importance

They have said the We Will is to retain players not to recruit them. I assume that it would be a loss of a player.

I'm guessing we lose more to the transfer portal and eventually our coaches get sick of it and leave if they can't keep anybody. Will be harder to hire coaches in the future if we can't even be remotely competitive as well

I know that was said at one point. Idk if Blum has ever made that point since he took over however
Right now we are not going to be winning any recruiting battles if NIL is the #1 factor. We are using it strategically with retention first and once we get enough resources exploring elsewhere as we can. Ideally we will get to a point where we have a base NIL package for every Football, Mens and Women’s basketball player. Thus our goal to get to $2M. We have a ways to get there.

Ah gotcha. That makes perfect sense to me, thank you

Womens basketball is a financial drain as it is.

There are legal and legislative activities that are coming and honestly that are going to potentially mandate some form of gender equity and also we have had several dedicated donors that have supported women’s basketball specifically. That is where the funds will come from. People can still choose what they want to support.

The wrestling RTC shows how this should be. Looking at their donation tree, they have like a half million raised for that. That is a sport that draws crowds of 3000 people. We mention 3 sports here that draw crowds way in excess of that, but wrestling has been doing this longer and has cultivated them longer. We need to find a way to get the 3 main sports donors to become like the wrestling donors.

Feel like we need to jot this down in our memory banks

Can you expand more on this? What level will this be coming at? State, Federal, just NCAA, etc?

Federal mainly. I’ve already received letters for feedback from 4 senators including Senator Tommy Tuberville. Better to be compliant now than get in trouble with them down the road.

Make sure to compare things or mention RPO in your response to Tommy boy, he loves to use that IIRC.

That is pretty big news and not something I've seen talked about anywhere else. Very good to know.

To me that feels like a big equalizer just in the sense that it would be a bit harder for Alabama to call up Drake Maye and offer him 20 million or whatever, for example

Maybe @brentblum and @ChrisMWilliams could set up kind of a Zoom “town hall” where some questions could be answered in the forum and maybe use it to raise some funds towards the collective as well? Or maybe donate a certain amount and get a special bottle of CF or even a WeWillCollective brand of Cody Road?
Seems like lots of people still have questions and many are “on the fence.”

How can the government tell private donors who they can and can't donate to?
