Urban Meyer gives Texas his answer...

We need CF to create some t-shirts. I'd buy one, but if I can make a suggestion, I'd go with "Welcome to Cyberia".

And we can have Mason Jar Mugs ready if they do hire Urban. Horns would fit in with Aggies.

Might have posted in the other thread... wonder if DD just brought Urban in knowing he wasn't interested. But by having Urban say "no" it would subdue the donors enough where you can keep Herman another year without a complete revolt. "I tried, but there's no one obviously better, so let's give him one more go at it".

You'd save a bunch of money, yeah it is Texa$ but still a big hole in 2020 budget right now. Won't be near as much clamor for whoever 2nd choice for new coach is. Then you hope Herman does better next year, maybe even beats OU, and you can keep some continuity.

What a great way to manage. :jimlad:

I think I have worked for a boss or two with similar styles of management.

How weird would it have to be to be Tom Herman right now? Still technically having a job, and maybe continuing to have it, but knowing your employer is out playing the field?

It's like the "maybe we need to spend some time apart" of college football.
Yeah, but he isn't making 50,000 a year living paycheck to paycheck. Different relationship than the common folk.

If I was Herman I would really want to get fired at this point, take the buyout and spend the rest of his career as an OC. Several OC/DCs make seven figures these days. Less pressure and he seems like a CPR type, decent head coach but a much better coordinator.

I don't know how Meyer could turn down 7 yr/$84 mil unless he still has health concerns.

Because when you already have more money than you can spend, its not worth the headache.

Urban's wife would probably leave him if he coached again. He had two severe mental breakdowns. Never mind the cyst on his brain.

Wasn’t the second breakdown basically from the wife neater grandson of EB that he had hired?
I don't really know his personal life. I just have a family member who coached a long time, and coaches only talk within their group for the most part.

Also, not sure what a neater grandosn of EB is.

Should have proof read.

Wife beater grandson of EB (Earle Bruce)
