Preview for tonight's dual. Fair assessment I think.

I know there's not much to be excited about but if your a wrestling fan get to Hilton tonight. Gonna be a good dual with alot of tossup matches. So get there and cheer them on!

Also, I wanted to point out that ISU incoming recruits are having awesome years! Give credit where credit is due.

Any of you guys know who Bryce Steiert's dad is? Wondering if it's one of the West Marshall Steierts I grew up wrestling with/against.

I don't know their background but according to the UNI roster...

From Horton, Iowa ... son of Kurt (Skip) and Christy

Many big matches (ranked and unranked)
133 - Hall vs Alber (Alber actually ranked a little higher, but Hall is 3-0 against him)
141 - Meeks vs Hodges is big for the dual win
157 - DiBlasi vs Moore or Kelly is big for dual and think any chance of NCAA bid for Colston
174 - Lelund vs Lujan (similar ranking)
184 - Downey vs Foster (Hope Downey can handle him, but Foster has been much better this year)
Hwt - Quean vs Everard - huge for dual and fringe NCAA berth

Could be an extremely close and exciting dual or 1 team could win the many tossups and blow this open

Well, I guess I'm lazy:) Yes, Skip wrestled for West Marshall. His Dad was also coach.

I was going to email somebody I know from Waverly to ask before I thought of that route. No skin off my nose. How good was his dad?

I watched Steiert quite a bit in high school. I know he was highly ranked nationally but didn't see him being a top 10 guy this quick. He out-horsed so many kids that I probably just didn't see the technique he had. It looks like the move to 165 has been a good one for him.

I agree with crablegs on those matches being great. I have UNI winning 17-15, with our wins coming from Hall, DiBlasi, Spoon, Downey, and Smith.

Simmons should win, if it is true the Peters is out.
I also hope Meeks wins. If he give 100% attack rate he would, but over thinks things to much in my opinion.

Only ones I see as heavy underdogs are Straw and Breitenbach/Pestano. I think everybody else has a great chance to win.

I will be there also and I hope the Clone Cones are big tonight
