Wrestling noob here.
Why is the 1st period 3 minutes and the 2 and 3rd 2 minutes? Is there a reason behind this?

Kyven did very well! Chick-Fil-A sandwiches must have gone over well for the students it appeared. That's about the extent of the positive things I have to say about this dual.
This is the lowest point yet. Facing a UNI team without arguably their best *two* wrestlers and lost 6 matches.

I have been a "wait and see" guy with KJ, especially after his last couple of recruiting classes. But I've seen enough. There is no improvement and we need a change. I used to always get excited about watching Iowa State wrestle, and it's getting to a point where I am starting to not care. We need a change to rejuvenate the fan base and find someone that can develop wrestlers.
It seems like every year, we always hear about this great recruiting class coming in. Then when they show, it's all about red shirting and needing time. Then after a few years those guys either weren't as good as the hype or they're hurt. KJ reminds me of GMac...just snakebitten. Either its incompetence or bad luck and at some point it doesn't matter which one.
Because we don't practice it, and we don't recruit it.
I just watched EIU vs PSU, and the difference between that dual and ours couldn't be more stark.
Hall has gotten worse, after beating the same wrestler through time. Weatherspoon just does enough to get by, which will catch him. Downey is still out of shape, and can't finish. There is nothing else. The roster has no talent, and worse, no drive. There are no fans. This will be the worst dual record of any ISU team in history. In year 8, that can't be acceptable, I'm sorry.
Colston's win was a lot of fun and it felt good to see Meeks win. That's as positive as I can be. Plenty of negative thoughts but I don't want to say anything I'll regret about any of our guys specifically. I'll just say that between some not improving or even regressing in their time here, lack of aggression and sense of urgency especially when trailing late in matches, far too many stalling calls, giving out riding time like its candy and so on and so on, I've seen enough of KJ. No hard feelings but its time to move on. I want him to succeed just like I wanted McD and Rhoads to but its not going to happen. Watching ISU wrestling should be fun and tonight was depressing.
Will JP want to spend money on a new Coach? He may not be able to hold out much longer.
