UNC it is.

I'm concerned that you're a cyclone fan that's not ******, You're right that people should be respectful but you're way at the other end.
Should I be wishing ill of him in order to prove my fandom? I don't care what he does at UNC, that's not the school I support. But I should jump off the deep end just because he chose another school? Is this the first recruit to turn ISU down?

Aw hell, you know what I'm really ****** about? The freakin' Mouth is going to be all happy as **** he "called it"

Good for him, but Barnes should not be allowed within 100 yards of Hilton or the practice facility from now on. We have wasted to much time for no return on him already. There is no need to let him continue to practice against a B12 roster so he can get better for UNC.
I may have to agree on this one but the same would have to apply to doug m as well

I'm a Cyclone fan and I'm not ******. Realistically, what does ISU offer that UNC can't except for family? Tradition UNC is top in the country. Academics aren't exactly a slouch either.

Perspective.

Am I disappointed? Yes, very much so. But you have to see HB for what he is: a 17-year-old kid. He may be more well-spoken and mature than the typical 17-year-old, but he's still 17. It's difficult to look beyond the flash and glamor of What Is Right Now (UNC) and see What Could Be (ISU). Does Coach feel used? Do the guys on the team feel used? Those are the ones who are personally impacted by HB's decision, not random yahoos on a message board.

Shirley has done a wonderful job raising a thoughtful young man, and I'm sure it was an agonizing decision for him, but in the end, he has to do what he feels is best for him and the personal goals he set out for himself. And that is at UNC. Maybe we were in it until the very last minute, we'll never know. That's the hardest thing to swallow - we'll never really know how close we were, despite what people say one way or the other.

Perspective. It hurts, but we'll get over it. We're Cyclone fans.

Couldn't agree more with you. With the state of our basketball team, he has a choice of going to be a Cyclone and most probably shoulder the entire team's workload (plus there's no guarantee of going to NCAA tourney every year) or go to UNC where he'll be guaranteed to go to NCAA Tourney every year.

Plus from the education standpoint, UNC is more prestigious than ISU. The finance program is No. 9 in the nation and accounting is no. 10 in the nation according to US News Magazine. Not to take anything away from Iowa State College of Business (I attended CoB and it was and is a good program) but you can't fight the ranking and prestige.

I wish him the best, but my best wishes will be for our Basketball Team !

I'll grant you that. I just wish him no success and feel this whole presser thing was a slap in the face to ISU.
I wish him all the best, why would I do otherwise? What has he done to me? He's a kid from my hometown who got recruited and chose another school.

I'm back from Ames High. What an ego stroke. Why didn't he just invite Ames High students and family. It's like he wanted to kick us in the nuts. I'm proud of the Cyclone fans. They handled it well.

No, I just expect you to show a little disappointment instead of slamming fellow cyclone fans.

I had heard ISU was for sure out of the mix a month ago already.

That is from somebody with close connections to select team basketball in Iowa.

But he also said UCLA was leading at that point.

Thanks for the reply. I hope McD knew in advance to at least soften the blow, although I don't know that he did. Let's sign some kids that want to be here and kick some butt. This is going to be a great year for Cyclone Bball and that had nothing to do with Barnes committing or not anyway.

I can be mad at him if I want and you can't stop me.
I would have been more surprised if it was ISU. How many of you know what its like to be the #1 recruit? #1 recruits go to UNC its been like that for years. Do I feel used, a little... maybe but I think it can also be said that ISU used HB. He gave our guys a ton of good competition in the offseason.

And then kicked you in the nuts, and laughed about it!
