UNC it is.

Good for him, but Barnes should not be allowed within 100 yards of Hilton or the practice facility from now on. We have wasted to much time for no return on him already. There is no need to let him continue to practice against a B12 roster so he can get better for UNC.
I agree totally!!! Hope his name just blends in with all the other names at UNC and his legacy is forgotten in a few short years. He would have been an icon at ISU and would never have been forgotten. Hope he's shunned by the Iowa State basketball community.

Yea, I agree with coach, lets focus on kids who wanna be Cyclones.

I love the movie Hoosiers too.

Watch the clip and feel better. I love our team this year. Next year. And every year. I am a Cyclone. I couldn't care less for people who do not choose to be Cyclones.

Just got back and settled from AHS. Disappointed, but have to move on. The only humor I could find in the situation is that about 1/4 the crowd didn't know where he was going after they showed RW. Guess he never said Carolina so most people didn't get it.

The media can keep calling him the #1 BB, smart, yada yada, but they need to stop calling him classy. That wasn't classy.

I will root against UNC, Deputy Dog Williams, and all their players...just like before HB's decision. That will especially include HB now. I wish them no success and will not apologize for it. Why wouldn't Iowa kids feel free to leave when half the Iowans just treat it as, "Oh well, I guess we are losers so I support you 100%." Screw that mentality. Prior to this announcement half the posters on this board were making better cases for other schools. It's Cyclone Fanatice not Cyclone Manic Depressent and it sure the hell isn't HB Fanatic. Do you think other communities would accept a kid leaving Chapel Hill or Lawrence? Hell no. It would not be accepted and I see no reason to accept it. He is a kid and he is free to choose where he wants to go to school and I am free to hope the decision turns into a disaster so it encourages other kids chhoose the Clones.

HB said he wants a shot at a championship. This is why HB did not sign with ISU:

15-16 (6-10)
14-18 (4-12)
15-17 (4-12)

Those years killed our chances.

Personally, I think the best thing we can do is stop posting in these HB threads (after this one of course), and post about Idaho St. tonight, Colorado tomorrow, Bowl games, and our basketball outlook for this year. This is a good year in Cyclone sports.

Did you notice how when he said he would always be a Cyclone fan you could feel the energy leave the building...

I would like to add another vote for the banhammer. This guy has been a troll since day one (not just today)

What I don't get is not choosing a school that you say you love. How many times does a kid stay home and snub the big programs? A lot! These are the type of things that happen for lowly schools once in a blue moon, it's just ISU that gets these gonad shots repetitively. How much more money or exposure do you get going to UNC? I really don't get that.

I would rather play with a bunch of chumps and play for the school I love. Personally, I'm amazed that he doesn't think that the current Cyclone players are good. Isn't that what he's telling Brackins and company? "You guys chose ISU because you HAD to, I'm going to go where I will get the world".

I do wish the kid well, he deserves it all!!! I just don't get choosing any other school than the one he apparently LOVED. Doesn't mean he should've chose ISU, I just don't get it.

If he wants to be the absolute best, he has to play at a place like UNC and prove it. However, I still think that he could have gone far (maybe even farther than he will at UNC) as an immediate star for ISU.

He is non existent to me now who cares. Im very dissapointed and thought we had a good chance of him coming to ISU but really we are gonna have a good team regardless. GO STATE!

Except he was never actually a Cyclone, so it's in no way the same thing. But aside from that, totally!!

Aside from him hanging with the team, coaches, practicing with our players, at our facilities, etc, etc......

yeah.....

Harrison Barnes = Gene Chizik

The decision is just so hollow. Nothing original or challenging about going to UNC. Heck, I don't play basketball... but I too could win a title at UNC. They could win and it could be injured on the bench. I just lost a lot of unearned respect for a young man who was made out to be mature and "his own person". Appears he nothing but a young kid that is taking the easy route to winning a national title. How lame. And he had the opportunity for so much more... could have been special and just blew it... he may not realize it for 30 years... but he will someday.
That's very possible, but at 17 could you turn down the very good chance at winning a NC for a very good chance of finishing in the bottom half of the Big 12? I would suspect that if he doesn't win a NC at UNC then atleast part of him will regret not coming to ISU. But a National Championship is a big draw.
