Tyrese Hunter, culture guy

He walked up to Johnny Orr's statue and gave it the Hook'em Horns before he left. I thought I heard him mumble something about falling down.

One does not ******* dishonor Johnny.

I don't like Hunter's attitude. Didn't like it at Iowa State, hate it at Texas. He's a punk and I hope we completely shut him down in Ames.

The butt hurt about Tyrese leaving is hilarious, as if nobody switches JOBS FOR BETTER PAY. Do I wish he’s still here absolutely he’s damn good, but can’t blame him especially if he’s putting some money in his pocket and if Iowa state couldn’t provide that then it’s Iowa state’s problem just like if a company can’t retain you cause another company offers better pay/benefits.
Conversely, the boy-crush love for the guy by some on here is equally hilarious and puzzling as well.

He's overrated, always has been, and yet so many on here seem to think his departure will tank our season this year.

The fact is we don't know why he left, whether it was for more NIL money, yadda, yadda, yadda, blah, blah, blah. It's over, he's gone and the future of ISU hoops is very bright without him.

Never said our program would tank without him.

Bolton got bounced by the coaching staff so no one should be upset with him.

You are correct.

But how he left didn't stop CF from labeling him a toxic traitor.

Imagine had that "toxic traitor" landed at say.....Baylor. It would be the same BS that is leveled at Hunter.

I don't know if there is some sort of propaganda wing on CF.................or just a bunch of people p****** and moaning because they have nothing to do and all day to do it. Because if one didn't know better you would think Bolton and Hunter were relatives of Steve Prohm.

Don't cheer for them, don't follow them.......boo them like you would boo any opponent if they play ISU. But geez, stop taking it so personal.

Do you mean a majority of posters labelled him as such or that CW or Stanz pushed that narrative? Your statement is ambiguous.

I recall reading about some who suggested that the remaining players and the new staff were all not in favor of Bolton staying at ISU. How does that make him a "traitor"? Especially how is that so when he initially made statements confirming his desire to remain at ISU? Who called him a traitor?

Yep totally agree. That "work your ass off, come to play every day, play HARD on every play, passion for playing tough defense" - yeah that attitude SUCKED.

Also REALLY bothered me how cool, calm, and collected he stayed as a freshman with that stone cold look on his face. Wish he would have been WAY cockier as a Cyclone and did not try so darn hard on the defensive end.

K Tyrese.

Bolton was not going to be welcomed back from the sounds of it. It was a situation where it worked out best for both parties with him moving on. Glad he's having success at Gonzaga.

That is what he said. He said it was something about his development or something. Who knows.
The more I think about it the more I think it has more to do with either he didn't like the way he was coached or how they ran the team. The coaches who recruited him were gone. He didn't have a lot of time to look elsewhere after that happened. It's obvious Otz coaching style is completely different from Prohms. If Hunter was really wanting to play more off the ball and not be the top guy running the game and he wanted to be here he could have talked with TJ and said so. They could have got someone to transfer in and allow that to happen. By all accounts Coach Otz is as up front and straight forward as they come. Hunter is talented enough and disciplined enough to make that happen. I believe either he just didn't like it here and didn't want to be here, or the coaches didn't feel like fighting to keep him here for some reason. If he didn't come back to campus after the tournament then transferring was probably already planned. The coaches and Hunter already knew this. The young man should be applauded. He made a commitment to ISU. He followed through with that and never gave less than 100% knowing he was going to leave at the end of the season. Props to the coaches and him for keeping these plans to themselves and not creating any distractions.

I say all that just to say screw him for picking Texa$$.
