Not sure I am following your logic fail here. If we continued to honor Chris Street for years, we were honoring a FORMER player.
Just keep digging, Stormin. Are we still honoring Chris Street AT IOWA STATE......yet?? I know Iowa continues to honor him. But didn't realize that Iowa State was still honoring Chris Street yet.
i understand what a few folks are getting at, but they seem to forgetting that Sash was from iowa. he didnt end up going to ISU, but he had good relationships with many ISU coaches and players for 8+ years between recruiting and his actual career. The number of ISU players that have commented on twitter really shocked me. its clear that sash had a lot of friends beyond the iowa team.
IMO, birthplace should make no difference when we are honoring Cyclones who have died. We have lots of athletes from different states who have Chosen to become Cyclones and given their all on the field of play. Jack Trice paid the ultimate price. He was not from Iowa. Birthplace should really be irrelevant.
He's not, this is just how he is.you have to be trolling now.

Classy thing by the ISU AD, happy to hear there will be something small. I hope to see this continue between the schools if (unfortunately, probably when) something like this happens again so close to the game.
I am suspecting something small as well. Moment of silence, recognition of his family in attendance. That sort of thing.
Well. What would something "big" be

Is his family even going to be there?

Thats what I was thinking too. A 5-10 sec moment of silence before the national anthem.
Whatever happens, its a very classy and appropriate thing for ISU to do. And if the situations were reversed, I would hope and expect that Iowa would do the same.

Just saw a tweet: Iowa is going to replace one of the Tiger Hawk decals on their helmet with a #9 to honor sash. Pretty cool, IMO
