Thats not my point, anyone that evaluates and judges a quarterback based on his freshman year is completely asinine.I'm saying that not everyone who starts as a redshirt freshman becomes the best QB to ever play the game.

You might as well call him a hall of famer cause he will be 1st ballot. So he will be a HOFer?
Pretty freaking close. Barnett had more yards with just a few more attempts and both had the same number of interceptions. But I know , quarterbacks cannot progress they only regress right? Their best years are only in high school. I mean as a redshirt freshman Barnett did nothing that hadn't been done in the past, just same old, same old.

:biglaugh: So troll, please tell me the last great quarterback to be in the heisman race or All-American or even a first team all conference player as a freshman or even a sophomore? There may be a few, but not many, quarterbacks with those awards as sophomores but not freshman.OMG....comparing Barnett to Manning or Favres freshman years? (FACEPALM)
Fine.....heres Peytons Soph year:
1995 380 244 64.2 2954 4 22
ATT COm % YDS INT TDS
Wake me up when Jantz AND Barnett COMBINE for that.
Well its close enough to have a conversation about. It is not close at all unless you just look at yards. And it took him 20 more attempts just to get 60 more yards.
I am not saying Barnett won't progress becaues I am sure he has. He played pretty decent for a RS Freshman in the Big 12. But to compare him to Peyton's RS Freshman year it is not close.

So Oklahoma State is starting a freshman at quarterback, you penciling him in for a trip to New York in December and I am not talking about the Pinstripe Bowl?
I wish, they closed it down.Go to Corey's, have a beer, discuss with them.
:smile::smile::smile:
Holy hell are we really comparing barnett to peyton manning?
I wish, they closed it down.
Yikes. Intriguing game. RT @EricBaileyTW Tulsa is an early 2-point road favorite in opening game at Iowa State. http://*******/kaeJC2
Huh?
I think someone is mistaken, no way we should be an underdog.
Well RubbukHawk, your post spurned me to bring up this subject. Maybe you should reply to it. Again what was your expectation for Barnett? Heisman? All-Big 12? All-American? I know he was a freshman but thats no excuse, we expect freshman quarterbacks at ISU to be in that conversation even though it never happens at any other school, we have to expect it here.Holy hell are we really comparing barnett to peyton manning?
Which is sad, I made a trip there after every home game and watched a lot of ISU games there too. Good people, just poorly managed. That's cuz they let everyone that I went to HS with bar tend there. Pretty sure no one paid for anything.
