Tristan Enaruna PT

If Enaruna is displaying disgruntled body language because of a lack of playing time then he needs to figure out why his minutes are reduced and correct his deficiencies. After all, the main reason he is a member of ISU is because he was not getting expected minute at Kansas. He has show flashes, i.e. Iowa game, but he has also shown some selfishness by not hitting a trailing teammate and forcing the layup on a breakaway.

I think that's what this thread is about. Speculating on what those are.

Did you watch Gabe on offense yesterday hold the ball and trip over himself as he forced a drive instead of passing? Hard to see it being selfishness on offense being it.

Perhaps they have some defensive details they wanted him to work on? Normally when a player makes a mistake, you take him out, teach him, then put him back in to work on it.

Was it too tight of game against SELA to risk it, or work on guys improving?

My goodness, the overwhelming evidence is that TE is not selfish AT ALL.

As previously noted, Gabe starts and gets tons of minutes for his defense. That is the kind of team this is. Could you start Grill instead and get more points? Sure. But I think the defense would suffer more than the offense would gain. Before you start talking plus/minus, keep in mind the TEAM defense concept here on the perimeter. I think he is critical to what they are doing.

The hard part is I don't think he is taking bad shots in general. I get shooting thru the slump, but it's 11 games in and he has had one good shooting game. I wonder if he isn't trying a little too hard, is a little in his own head on offense - you have to be relaxed to shoot well. Maybe instead of trying to shoot thru it, just stop trying at all for a while. Let it come back on it's own instead.

Also, whoever compared him to Nixon that is out of bounds. Nixon's form was bad AND had zero consistency in his stroke. I've seen wrestlers with better shooting technique.

The BPM takes into account the team defense impact.

That is Gabe's shot too. He has too much movement in his shot, and it is inconsistent in form. That finger break must have been very bad, almost like what you see with those that break their shooting hand wrist.

I see multiple comments here and in other threads recently about Tristan's "body language" and dejected demeanor and such ... I guess I don't pay a lot of attention to what occurs on-bench ... is it possible he's down on himself and happens to show it more openly than some players?

Feels like fans might be reading more into it than is actually there.

Enaruna looked really good in the Iowa game, then barely played against the bad teams. I have no idea what's going on with him. As long as he starts though I don't know how he can be upset.

It's all over.

When has that ever happened here?:)

I watched Tre Jackson pass up a certain layup/jam to get his teammate the bucket. I have watched Eneruna force up a couple of times to get his. I am sharing my opinion just as you are. I am spe ulating on what I see. After all, I am in Montana watching the games on television and not sitting on the bench or witnessing practice.

I haven’t read so much body language analysis since the last time ISU was 11-0. That year every motion of Deandre Kane was a topic of discussion.
