Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

Why is the Big 10 constantly playing games all the time? Practically every night there is a Big 10 MBB game. What a weird schedule.

They also do that weird s*** where they play a smattering of conference games really early in the year. For example Illinois played @ Rutgers on December 2.
The BTN has to have content so they spread the games out all week and all weekend so they can broadcast as many of them on there are possible. If we would have formed a B12N we would have experienced the same thing and we would have been ******** about it (with good reason).

As far as conference games in early December, next season when we go to 20 conference games we will have to either have multiple conference games when the students are on break or start conference play before finals in the fall term. Neither sounds like a great option. If I had an experienced team, I would probably want the December start. If I had a team that was just working to find itself I would want the studentless games.

Look at the bright side. If there's a court storming after the game, everyone will be very safe.
I wonder if they're going to start putting in bounce houses, balloon artist, and face painters to draw their family audience that already gets free pizza and popcorn for buying their $5 tickets?

But on a serious note - it's really sad that our elementary school - only 1 of 12 in Waukee now - had a bigger crowd last night for Family Fun Night than Iowa has probably had in 2-3 games combined.

I was scrolling the channels and saw pillow fighting on espnnews. I thought it was going to be iowa vs Minnesota. Nope it was Memphis vs Tulane. Now there is actual pillow fighting. Wtf is this?

If they really want to increase attendance from their target population, they should have their Colleges of Dentistry and Medicine offer free teeth cleanings and antibiotics for STD's.

My 2 cents Iowa can be a good job just need the right coach Lute and Dr. Tom both made it formidable.
Their fans are as fickle as can be though.

Fran has done a tremendous job at Iowa. Hopefully he leaves soon

That’s not an easy job and they could do much worse (and have).

I read an article on the Hawk rival site from some Gazzette writer blaming attendance on weekday games and that Des Moines is too far away for people to drive. Wtf? You think everyone in Hilton lives in Story County? B itch please stop with the lame ass exucses.
I'm not sure why so many H**ks think there is a critical-mass of H**k fans living ~30 miles from ISU's campus and ~110 miles from EIU's campus.
