This is why Prohm must go........

On both the “kicked” ball and 6 count he should have lost his **** on the officials. He hardly even made a peep. I don’t want FranCON, but Prohm just taking it is worse, IMO.
The "kicked" ball was at a very important point in the game where we were about to tie or take the lead. He should have been all over the refs demanding they review that. He should have been all over the refs about Wesson moving screens, grabbing our players on screens, and elbowing our bigs when getting position.
Instead, I saw Lard talking to the refs about the elbows and NWB and Shayok letting the refs know about the moving screens while Prohm just quietly sat there.

Good coaches are on the sideline ref's ear all game. Not screaming and ********, but just pointing out things that other team's players are doing. Most often than not, refs will start looking for that on the next trip down the floor.

Prohm just leaves it up to the gods of basketball.

Preface by saying no offense intended.

But it’s really hard to take the rest of your post seriously when you refer to Dustin Hogue as a stretch 4.

This just proves to me you know nothing about basketball. Dustin was a consistent outside threat.

I don't mean to disrespect. But you probably didn't realize that Dustin had 100 more rebounds in his senior season than our 5 did this year. He also shot a 39% from 3 and was nasty tough

What strategy did you see? Dribble at the top of the key and run a screen after holding onto the ball for 20 seconds? Give the ball to Shayok and let him save your ass like he did in KC and other times in the year? Let Jacobson get smoked down low? No adjustments on the one player who beat us?

ISU did adjust on Wesson...they tried Lard...and they tried to double-team Wesson but OSU hit some three point shots and ISU had to stop the aggressive double team on Wesson. This was pointed out by the game announcers.

Shayok is a good scorer. Why wouldn't you pass him the ball to let him score? Lard had 12 points in the post, Wigg had 14, Shayok had 23. It's actually pretty balanced scoring. TH, THT, and NWB just couldn't hit their open looks.

Given your supposed vast BB expertise, I'm surprised you missed these things. Or, maybe you are just an insufferable blowhard who really doesn't understand much at all.

Prohm is a great representative of the University who will stay above board and do things the right way in regards to the players. He isn't going to the final four though. If you are oK with that then you should be OK with me bitchin about it.

Tell me what coach is getting us to the final four?

ISU doesn't have the talent to go 14-4 in the Big 12. ISU is one dimensional and you cannot be one dimensional and win 14 Big 12 games because there a bunch of different styles of teams you have to beat to win 14 Big 12 games.

You seem to be basing your opinion of ISU 's talent off their performances against Kansas. "Well if we kicked KU's butt then we must be the most talented roster in the league" is the thinking that had Mizzou fans feeling like they were going to make a Final Four run whenever they beat us.

When you play 4 guards, you are completely reliant on your players shooting well from 3, getting out in transition and playing aggressive defense. ISU let Ojio State's boring offense lull them to sleep and a false sense of confidence after their Big 12 tourney run seems to have dulled their sense of urgency.

In the last 7 seasons, ISU has won the Big 12 tourney 4 times and in those 4 seasons they have just 3 tourney wins and 2 first round exits. In the 3 seasons they didn't win the Big 12 tourney, they have 4 tourney wins and zero first round exits. I am ot saying that winning the Big 12 tourney makes it harder to win NCAA games. I am just pointing out the fact that it can lead to overconfidence and as a result, teams can go into the tourney complacent and not playing as hard as they should be.

I don’t buy the “false sense of security of a conference tournament championship” argument especially when you are basing it off the number of NCAA tourney wins Iowa State has in the years they’ve done it.

Show some evidence that your argument applies to teams across the nation and you might have an argument. Iowa State’s NCAA tournamanet wins/losses have been based around good/bad matchups and not being an elite team in any of those years except for Hoiberg’s last season and that ended in tragedy for other reasons.

The Kane team won the Big 12 tournament, went to the Sweet 16, and was a healthy Niang away from a likely Final 4.

I also wondered why Lard's back was to Wesson on so many plays. Watching it closely, Wesson is using elbows to turn the defender around even before getting the ball in the post. Refs let him get away with it all game long.

Oh please. We have no idea. The Kane team wasn’t immune to losses.

Wow this was hard to read. Did you watch the game? Lard was in cause he was playing better that’s not an adjustment. There wasn’t many double teaming. NWB and TH dragged into the lane for split seconds. Prohm can’t make adjustments. Prove me wrong. Put down your keyboard cause you’re embarrassing yourself on so many levels.

How about actual guard screens? Our guys will go to screen and not only do they half ass the screen and pull back early, but our guards don’t even wait long enough for it to be effective. Our offense looks like a poor man’s version of Fred’s system. Our defense is better but not good enough to make up for the lack of offense identity

Doesn’t change the premise of my argument if you want to axe the last line.

Still Tournament Champions. Still a sweet 16. “Overconfidence due to tournament championship leads to poor NCAA tournament performance” is a baseless argument.

Lol lots of dummies in here. We sucked, it was terrible basketball on all sides. There is a point in OPs statement i agree with in that Prohm refused to start his best players all year and give them the minutes they deserve. Recruits are going to look at the use of Wiggs and find a different uniform to wear. Just like baseball you shouldn’t lose your spot to injury. Disagree? How’s our recruitment been? I’m glad this seasons over, gonna go outside.
