This is why Prohm must go........

Here’s what I have so far. What else you got? No opinions just facts.

Pros:
Treats players equally, no one above the law
Recruits at a high level
Identifies underrated talent
Cons:
Not great at managing talent/egos
Lack of in-game adjustments
Below average Xs and Os
Good god - what qualifications do you have for such judgements? What college team do you coach?

I watch the games. All of them. I’ve said i don’t think Prohm needs to go because his body of work does not suggest it. Just trying to be somewhat analytical. It’s all in or all out with so many people on here

No one cares about your opinion. You know nothing about basketball. Who cares the amount of time I spend on CF. I have a life outside of online forums unlike some on here.

Well, considering the number of likes, agrees, and winners my posts have gotten during the season, and even in this thread itself, it appears that a lot of other posters do care about my opinion.

But by all means go ahead and keep on telling the rest of us how great of a fan you are of ISU, even though you didn't post a damm thing all season until after it's over.

I see the con of not managing talent. And I certainly think that was a problem. But he did turn that around during the year.

Just another in a long line of anonymous inter web posters puffing their chests, telling us all their sports exploits as young athletes at some nowhere middle school, talking about how smart they are from the comfort of some cheeto stained couch with an elvis picture on the wall.

You are nothing. You don't matter to anyone on this board. Nor do I so lets see who can whip out the harshest 10 word posts as we lash out at the worse 23 win season in the history of histories. See a doctor - I think your uterus is broken.

You are right. We should just blow the whole thing up and start over. Take a chance on some coach doing better that what Prohm has done. Bring someone new in that will take ISU to places only one coach has taken them. Hiring a coach is a taking a chance, more often than not it doesn't work out, and a program gets ruined. Sure there are a few cases when it does work out, but they are few and far between, when a program is where ISU is at. Baylor and KSU are 2 programs that have stayed the course with their coaches and had a good ride because of it. Okie State and Texas are programs that wanted more, 3, 4, 5 years later have those fans got more?

People also need to remember this team is so young. Not many teams not named Duke or Kentucky run this many underclassmen out there in the tourney and make a huge run.

So what if we have no team left? What if THT, Lard, Lewis and Wiggs leave. Just sayin what happens if the roster blows up because of the internal problems this team had. Do we then start over with a new coach also? In my opinion the answer is yes...

After reading this dandy of a thread I can see the university is going to have a lot of good job applications to sift through when prohm goes.

That’s fair but that one might still need to be written with Lindell’s decision. Clearly not ready but may be fed up

I just doubt you possess even 1% of the knowledge regarding "in game adjustments" or "X's and O's" that Steve Prohm does.
Fans have a right to judge coaches on wins and losses - they're paid to win games. But I have to laugh when fans like you rate their particular skills and abilities...

Lindell was ALWAYS going to leave after this year. It didn’t matter if he averaged 3 minutes or 38. It didn’t matter if he was drafted or not.

If he stays (which he won’t) it would only be because he really really likes Iowa State.

The "kicked" ball was at a very important point in the game where we were about to tie or take the lead. He should have been all over the refs demanding they review that. He should have been all over the refs about Wesson moving screens, grabbing our players on screens, and elbowing our bigs when getting position.
Instead, I saw Lard talking to the refs about the elbows and NWB and Shayok letting the refs know about the moving screens while Prohm just quietly sat there.

Good coaches are on the sideline ref's ear all game. Not screaming and ********, but just pointing out things that other team's players are doing. Most often than not, refs will start looking for that on the next trip down the floor.

Prohm just leaves it up to the gods of basketball.

Just asking, since I was not at the game, how do you know that Prohm wasn't talking to the referees? At the Big 12 Tournament I noticed Prohm talking to the referrees after nearly every timeout demonstrating and pointing out what he felt were bad/missed calls. It just doesn't show up on TV.

Hey, it only took him until the last 10 minutes of the 35th game to put the 5 best players on the court and stick with it. You have to at least give him some props for that brilliant coaching move.

Maybe you could provide a game-by-game recap of all of Cam's fabulous outings that lead you to the belief he was the best player? Most efficient fouling for sure. But it's not like we had a double-double sitting on the bench unless it's fouls and yells.

Love Cam - good kid it seems. Your opinion? I love Cam - good kid it seems.

I don't mean to disrespect. But you probably didn't realize that Dustin had 100 more rebounds in his senior season than our 5 did this year. He also shot a 39% from 3 and was nasty tough

He was a special player. And he had his limitations. And those were different teams. Completely. May as well yank out Barry Stevens and say - SEE???

I don’t buy the “false sense of security of a conference tournament championship” argument especially when you are basing it off the number of NCAA tourney wins Iowa State has in the years they’ve done it.

Show some evidence that your argument applies to teams across the nation and you might have an argument. Iowa State’s NCAA tournamanet wins/losses have been based around good/bad matchups and not being an elite team in any of those years except for Hoiberg’s last season and that ended in tragedy for other reasons.

The Kane team won the Big 12 tournament, went to the Sweet 16, and was a healthy Niang away from a likely Final 4.
