The Big 12's survival or failure is pretty damn clear.
If the 9 schools actually commit to staying and start expanding, the league lives. If anyone bails, it's done.
And even if Texas goes to the Pac (unlikely), there's going to be a BCS option for ISU. My prediction is that when this **** is all said and done, there will be more schools in BCS leagues than not.

If ISU does get edged out of being in an AQ conference because of this mess , Iowa's senators and representatives need to scream bloody murder until the government files an antitrust suit against the NCAA and strips all the major schools/conferences of their non-profit status.

They let nebraska in, they wouldnt be turning us down for academic reasons.
Academics are one of the few things the Big 10 would consider about ISU.
Actually, ISU fits the profile of a Big 10 university to a T, they just already have all the TV sets in this state.
There are a lot more reasons for ISU to have a shot at the Big 10 than not, but the ones that go against us are the biggest ones.

God damnit, I hate this conference. Let it blow up and get it over with. It's going to happen at some point, might as well get it over with now.
The ****** part is that the Big 12 could work just fine if everyone tried to do so, but everyone is obsessed with going elsewhere.
