*****The Super, Mega, Huge Big 12 Expansion Thread*****

I think we have to get at least to 10 quickly, just to create the picture of stability.

I'll agree here... If aTm goes, we need to add in at least 1 other team just to show that we are still a conference and can survive without the likes of those aTm *******. Ideally the additional team would be one that is worth something and would be a nice plus if we were to take them away from another conference (hint: Big East).

If Big 12 decided to go mega-conference first (doubtful, but just suppose) then UL might rethink the idea.

I don't know if I would believe that article to begin with, there aren't going to be many teams that pull an Aggie and start ******** about their conference before they even have the deal ready to go...

Louisville may easily be in talks with the Big 12, but they aren't going to come out and say it until the deal is final and they are coming over; or once this whole debacle is over and done with.

Not sure if this has been posted yet (haven't reviewed):

Thanks, but no thanks Big 12 | C. L. Brown - U of L Beat

Louisville won't be joining the Big 12 according to their AD.
This article really doesn't say that Louisville doesn't want to join the Big 12. It's a writer giving his opinion with the AD just saying they like their place in the Big East. That's typical "AD" talk, I would rank it right up there with "coach speak" like "firmly entrenched".
Do you really expect the AD to come out and say "yes, if we were invited, we'd definitely join the Big 12." The won't do a mizzou.. and invite themselves into a conference, without an invite.

If the sec takes fsu who does the acc take? West virginia? Does the big east stay at 8 again or does it fold and the pieces scatter?

Exactly. Hell, even a few days ago when this started coming up, there were people saying their sources at TAMU or the SEC were saying 'nothing's up here'. Then bam, a lot of substance happens quickly.

My dad came up with this but he cant remember his login so I guess I'll put it on here for him.

It had to deal with that link where Bebee told A&M that the Big 12 would survive without them because Texas held the keys, or something like that.

His witty comment to that was that Bebee was in the trunk and Texas was driving the car. We thought it was funny so I thought I would share.

We've gone over 1000 at least a few times.

Yeah. I havent found a way to just list the biggest threads, but if you use the search, and use 'state' as your search term (since it requires you search for something, and any thread with 1000+ posts will have state in it) and for threads with 1000+ posts, there are 35 over 1000, only 3 over 2000. The record is http://www.cyclonefanatic.com/forum...se-few-my-favorite-things-when-dog-bites.html with 5347 posts .Though i believe some threads got deleted

I think the ACC would go after UConn or Rutgers.

Several reasons:
1) Greater population in both states than West Virginia.
2) Academics. WVU is practically a community college. The ACC is a bit snobbish. Both UConn and Rutgers are respectable academically.
3) Helps fill the geographical gap between Maryland and BC.

I think this thread will shatter the record. We aren't even to Monday when they're expected to announce it. Then things will really heat up.

Def proud to be the first to break the news. This thread is my pride and joy on this site.

Not to mention, it was a very random thread.
