With that said...they'll probably still accept OU and OSU. Although if I was in their shoes, I would be a little scared about being so geographically far away from everyone else, being split from Texas, and forfeiting all former rivalries.

OU & Texas are parting ways on this in good terms. RRS will continue in Dallas. OSU is coming with us to the Pac.. Oklahomas two rivalry games that are left are preserved.

If Texas decides to play ball over the LHN, Texas & Tech will be in the Pac.. If not Kansas or Missouri will fill their slots.

We're not going to be isolated. There could be 5 original Big 8 members in the same league

Under a Pac 16 Pod system schools would still be in & out of cali..

Colorado & Washington state don't like the idea of getting boat raced 60-10

David Boren wouldn't have opened his mouth if OU was going to be rejected

Not currently allowed under NCAA rules, plus you need teams 15/16 for it to happen. Right now there is no way Texas goes to Pac 12 and right now there is no way Pac 12 expands beyond 14 without Texas.

Boren has open his mouth and said many things that he shouldn't have. Why would he stop now. Of course, you have too (just in print form on this board), so it must be a typical sooner trait.

Enjoy it, the grass will not be greener. *insert several choice words not appropriate for children *

And take a **** on the rest.

A Big 12/Big East football merger is intriguing and makes too much sense. I'm sure Texas would be very happy getting their hands more into the east coast. This is assuming Mizzou leaves and WVU stays, but you could swap those too.

West - Texas, Texas Tech, Baylor, TCU, Kansas, KSU, ISU, Louisville
East - Cincy, Pitt, USF, Rutgers, Syracuse, UConn, WVU, TBD.

Really interesting if TBD is Notre Dame or BYU.
You could juggle things north/south too if you wished or some other way for better competitive balance.

What About 4 Pods?

Texas - UT, Tech, Baylor, TCU
Midwest - Mizzou, ISU, KSU, KU
New England - Uconn, Syracuse, Rutgers, ?? (BC or ND??)
Other - Pitt, WVU, Cincy, USF?

Really? I know nothing has been decided yet, but everything I've heard is that the PAC isn't the most likely option for Texas. If Texas doesn't go to the PAC, no way Texas Tech goes to the PAC.

I just can't see Mizzou in the PAC either. They'd rather go to the SEC or wait their time in the Big East until the Big 10 expands again.

Kansas? Depends on whether the PAC is okay with adding K-state too. Can't imagine that the PAC members would be okay taking a pay hit adding the two or not and whether they're okay with K-State's academics.

OSU and OU belong in the PAC 12 about as much as a bull belongs in a china shop. They are just blowing smoke out their ***** in an attempt to get leverage with Texas.

Here is what I hope is happening:

Texas is calling OU's bluff and tells them to go to Pac 14 and then the Big 7 collect about $60 million in exit fees. Then we start adding teams. First call up entire Big East and see who wants to join. If 2-3 join, then the rest might just follow suit.

I think that's actually the most frustrating part, and I'm not blaming you.

We see unreliable people posting fiction all over Twitter, but saying "sources say" without mentioning that they often are apparently their own source.

Then you get a headline like the article you posted, and the conclusion seems pretty obvious, especially to people like us with an emotional investment in the story. This drives more traffic for them while they mislead a reading public hungry for news.

These "news" people are either exploiting people's emotions for their own selfish ends or they are completely incompetent in terms of reporting news, evaluating sources and information, and confirming that they have actual information to report.

The media side of this thing absolutely ticks me off.
There is no news so the media is making it up -- just ignor it -- the Big Xii is not going away.

I swear either nobody pays attention or they are so stuck on their preconceptions that it just doesn't sink in - it was brought up earlier in this thread that KU and K-State are NOT tied to the hip like everyone is led to believe. KU would prefer to bring K-State along, but KU is in self-preservation mode, and if a conference only wants KU then K-State is on its own.
