Talent on a new level

If you watched both games, though, that's your own fault.
I only made one stupid mistake. My eyes haven't forgiven me yet.

It is - I thought the clones were going to be on at 7:00 instead of 8:00. Bad, bad mistake.

I had pretty low expectations coming in this year, but since Babb took over the primary ball handling, I'm shocked at how well they've been playing. I think Prohm's next card to play is Lard getting more and more minutes, and really dialing in our front court minutes.

The guards are playing better than I could've hoped at this point.

The UNI game will be the wake up call. Better ISU teams have lost to them.

No doubt about that. They're steadily improving but UNI is going to be a tough out. They might even be the favorites going in depending on how the game goes this Thursday.

Look at this team next year though after everyone gets a year under their belt. They are going to be downright scary

NWB
Wiggington (expect him to come back)
Lard
Shayok (predicting BIG12 newcomer of the year)
Young
Lewis
Long
Talley
Jacobson
Horton Tucker- expect him to be a contributor next year
*impending grad transfer*

Iowa is a disaster. Bohanon is a good 6th or 7th man on a team. Him playing point would be like watching Scott Christorpherson (THUG LIFE) playing point. Fran has missed so bad on point guards it reminds me of when Larry missed badly and had to have Jake Sullivan bring the ball up the court.

The talent on this team is going to have it's good nights and bad nights. That's what young guys do. The talent is there though. I am so excited for Wiggintons Junior season when the Freshman next year have one more year under them.
If you are going to disrespect the man you call him by his proper name.

Don't forget Zion Griffin. He'll compete for minutes too. There are going to be some fierce battles for PT next year.

Just home from the game. The vibe for this team is fascinating. I concur with your post deeply. The selfless passes seem to be more mature than year 3 of our last coach(can’t type the H word wo tears) the fascinating thing is they look more mature and like a more complete team. Wigs is the real deal. Jackson was sick. Lard is not physically mature but does many of the right things. Sol looks solid. Babb plays very differently than manman but seems efficient. The one thing that seems to be unique is offensive efficiency and defensive intensity. Prohm is earning his paycheck this year. If he strings two more classes together we have legs to be a solid program. Don’t know if he will do what he did recruiting this year but I look forward to see what they do on the recruiting road. If chips fall right they could be a bubble team. If not lots of scars will make them stronger next year. I can’t figure if Wigs has an NBA body but the kid plays very cleanly. Lastly I think the maturity to play a tight first half, then kick the doors off couldn’t be a better prep game for Thursday. We very easily could lose but if that happens I am not sweating one game. We played ball in a way that the Bulls coach would appreciate with better defense. Lots of games but I am encouraged after seeing them play live.

Just one mans opinion.
And, then we have head band.

What I meant by my original post is not that we are better than years past teams. If we make the tournament even better and I truly believe this team would probably lose to last years team however I was just saying we have more nba potential on the roster then years past when we had really good college players

Those seem to be 2 good guys to live off of. Wiggins is so athletic it is crazy. I have said a lot of bad things about Babb in the past but that is behind him. He was kind of a turnover machine before and seemed out of place on the court but now he seems to know where to be at all times and where the ball needs to go. His decision making and feel for the game has been unreal.

It also is a good thing that your best 3 players are also the guys that work the hardest on the court. Great things happen then.
I will admit to getting a little misty eyed last night in the second half. It felt like the good old days with great ball movement/sharing and accuracy from deep. Is it just me or does anyone else believe we need to get Cameron involved early with a couple of dunks or bunnies as that seemed to really energize him - much like it did to McKay. Not that he is a head case like Jameel but some guys need to get our crowd behind them to play to their peak.

If Wigginton keeps on playing like he has the last few games, is there a chance he will be a one and done? I hope not, but I wonder if Tyler Harris is thinking he might, and ISU is thinking he might, so then ISU would be a perfect landing spot for Harris?

**** I haven't seen a game since Mizzou when the season was in the tank. Now we're loaded with NBA talent? What the hell happened the past 3 weeks?

You haven’t watched any games since Game 1?l I ask you the same question, what the hell? You’re missing out.

The Boise State win is looking better and better...they beat Oregon by 3 on Oregon's home floor. Oregon isn't the Oregon on last 2 years, but still pretty decent.

true...but Boise was without their best player after about 4 minutes when he went down hard.
