Student turnout is apalling

What's even worse are the idiots sitting in the 5th row wearing forest green pullovers...do you not own an ISU shirt???
I'm not saying that its not a problem. I've only missed one game this season due to a wedding and am here now (I suppose I'll get flamed for being on CF during the timeout too). I'll agree with anybody on here that something needs to be done to get students here because it looks embarrassing. I just don't see why we need to have at least one of these threads after ever single game. Everybody knows the student turnout sucks, but for games like tonight against the last place team in the conference in the middle of the week you kinda have to expect a lower attendance.
Haven't read further than this, but most people will spend double this on a night out.

Why don't you lay off of him? He is just one student who chose to stay home and work on homework. He probably isn't as productive as he could be as evidence of posting on CF, but he is probably working more on his paper than he would be by going to the game.
Yes it is disappointing that the students didn't show up tonight for whatever reason but singling out one guy is pretty pointless.
it's a f'ing game, who has their priorities back assward here! probably had a reason not to be there.
Might want to apply some intelligence. If you got student tickets, they were $125 including CA. If you got $99 tickets, you had to pay that plus $30. The net is $4. Find another excuse to cry about.
Attendance is pathetic but that's what happens with a pathetic team playing and a history for as long as most students have been here of bad basketball.
As a former student during all of McD's tenure, I understand why its not 100% full. Stop your complaining. Would you go to a concert that you had been to in the past that sucked for 5 years? No!

i know for a fact there was alot of testing tonight. but i still made it to the game at half, i think the quality of opponent took a chunk out of the number
seriously? student attendance sucked, but so did everwhere else. I had a half a row empty in the parquet in front of me. tons of empty seats everywhere. I thought about taking pictures for the inevitable thread (they are really getting old) but figured I'd watch the game instead. one year where the rest of the crowd doesn't suck and all of a sudden they have to feel superior by calling out the students. we won, ******* enjoy it!
For the more sensitive on this board: This is not a personal attack on you. You may very well have a legitimate reason for not being in attendance. Just please don't take it personally and point out how much $30 is to you or how much homework you have or point out the intricacies or your class schedule and in turn try to defend the entire student body.

Having dozens upon dozens of open seats in the student section for a midweek, school in-session, conference game with a tournament quality team in February is not acceptable. If the system in place is not attracting students then change it or reduce the student allotment.

I think you need to make it ALL Cyclone Alley or scrap it all together. No more of this half and half crap. I mean honestly, if you aren't in CA, you probably aren't a big basketball fan anyway.
I wonder how those Duke kids do it? They must not have homework and tests at Duke. Really, you aren't the first students at Iowa State to have a lot to do. Real fans still find time to make it to the game.
I'd pick a different student section to make an example of.
