STUDENT CHANT

You can tell the hockey families from the other "softer sports" families very quickly.

I played and watched a lot of different sports growing up (but not hockey until I got into it as a fan later). But I can say the hockey families are without a doubt my favorite. Not afraid of a chant, a big hit, or a fight every now and again...(to say the least.) I respect the physical and mental toughness.

I went to about five Sioux City musketeers hockey games growing up as a kid and at my first mbb at Hilton I did think to myself “oh it’s a little bit like that huh?”.

You must be from Sewer City or their abouts. Went to plenty of Musketeers games growing up in NWIa. Always a good time. But we would go to Sioux Falls to watch the Canarys play.

You're going to hear vulgar language at any sporting event - it's the nature of the beast and it mostly doesn't bother me as a parent. I don't mind bull**** chants after bad calls and hearing things in the stands - I'm known to drop a few during games myself.

That being said, this new trend of chanting f*ck (insert opponent here) multiple times per game is just uncreative and cringe.

That’s where I am at. A few times a game it’s whatever, but when it’s the most consistent chant it’s annoying.

I’d agree with this. It’s always been happening and will unfortunately keep happening.

But yes, our students could stand to be more creative. The “you need Caitlin” chant was a great one that also wasn’t vulgar

It could have been me. Cussing at Norm
Stewart and Billy Tubbs were two of my most creative endeavors in school.

I’m young enough the Quinster was the first Mizzou coach I really “knew” so to speak. Based on stories from Brent and on here pretty disappointed I missed most of the Norm era

This thread reminds me of the time some old lady wrote a letter to the editor complaining that the pep band's chants at WBB games were unsportsmanlike/disrespectful/whatever.
