Do you think they will move Tiller. I know he is quick, but how does he compare to WR at other schools? He must have decent ball handling because he is a QB so he should be able to catch a ball. He has good size to him. Would WR be a good place for Tiller? I hate to see a guy come to a school and not be able to play, and I know we need help at WR because hardly anyone could catch a ball.

What I thought....I just hope we don't go with one of the qb's purely to impress a future recruit. Hopefully its the guy that gives us the best chance to win, no matter who that is.

Probably not. I can see Tiller transfering if he gets buried in the depth chart.

CPR is going to throw as many darts at the board as he can to improve this team.
I agree. CPR is no *** kisser. He has no soft feelings for anyone on the team. If he can bring in someone who is better then the original starter, he will. Just win baby!

I would doubt if Tiller would move IMO. If Steele Jantz would commit, he would most likely get to compete for the QB job, if that didn't work out he would most likely be moved to Safety which is where he was originally thought to be coming out of HS. And he played there in HS as well.

Steele Jantz has played Juco QB. And that is far, far different than playing in the Big XII. It looked to me like a lot of his throws were high floaters that his receivers went up and got over the defenders. Our receivers have had trouble catching them when they get hit right in the numbers.

Who are Steele Jantz' other offers?

I have not seen if he has any other offers. It says nothing about it on his scout/rivals page. The only other school i have seen talk about him is San Jose State.

All of this late recruiting focus on QB doesn't exactly fill me with confidence going into next season.

You could look at it that way or it is really a statement of how important the qb position is. I think the coaches know a good qb (i.e.reesing) can compensate for shortcomings elsewhere...

Agreed. He mentioned so many times this season about how the quarterback play needs to be at a higher level than it currently is. Tiller has had every opportunity to take this quarterbacking position, but has yet to do it.

By whom? Nobody at ISU thought he was a safety and no schools ever recruited him for anything else but QB.

He would be dumb to do so. He has used his redshirt year so a transfer after 2011 would use up his eligibility unless he went down to I-AA. If he stays this offseason he's here through his senior year. As simple as that.

I would guess that nobody, including Tiller, can say for sure if this would happen. We do, however, have 3 QB underclassmen on the roster with more on the way. It's quite common among D1 programs to have a QB transfer every couple of years. More so than other positions, they are accustomed to being the alpha dog in high school. The #2 guy usually gets some snaps, but the 3rd and 4th options seldom see the field.

Some guys can handle being a scout team or program style player, but others are still convinced that they can be the next Tom Brady if only given the opportunity. What they often fail to realize is that Brady started out 7th on the depth chart and kept battling until he won the job for his final two years at Michigan.

The bottom line is that Tiller or any of the other QB's could leave, get hurt, or de-commit at any time. If the staff believes that they are either in good shape or can best improve the team by signing a Juco QB, I'll support their decision.

Agreed.

It's very possible that Steele is a backup plan in case Florida Sam Richardson decommits.

If you think walk-on QB's can't get it done then look at Hawaii's current QB (the guy who beet out Jantz), Bryant Moniz. He joined the team as a 6' 180 lb QB and has thrown for almost 5,000 yards and 40 TD's this year.

QB's are usually the most athletically gifted kids on the field. I'll take as many as we can get. Im more than willing to bet that Capello will be our QB next year. It should be a cy bookie bet.
