What are the repercussions if YOU knew who he was?
Why wouldn't you just use the position he has actually coached in the past? Actually, I believe DL is the only defensive position he didn't coach. It's because you didn't know and likely didn't care. That's all fine, it's just ridiculous to come off as a coaching expert when you don't demonstrate any knowledge how things actually work.
Exactly, senol gone senile.I literally don't understand this question.
All opinions on this message board carry equal weight.
That was exactly my point, thanks for assist TRE4ISU. I am the one in the FAWcast thread last week that said you sounded like a tool. And the reason I said that wasn't because of your prediction for the remainder of the season or the TT game, that actually didn't bother me. But my comment was fueled by the following reasons:
1. You try to come off as a coaching expert. Coaches should do this, not do that but provide no substance for your reasoning. If you would just provide some thoughtful reasoning for your position I would eliminate this item from the list. Saying "D line coach or coordinator are likely better fits for him" when he has never been DL coach in his career (he's been a DB and LB coach at previous stops) just proves you don't even know the history behind what you are talking about and just hate CPR for petty crap. Which leads me to #2.
2. You have a personal vendetta against the coach over a song. A ******* song. Such a petty thing. But what I find funny about that is that the Smoke on the Water guitar riff is widely considered a top 10 all time guitar riff by numerous music industry experts, but I wouldn't expect someone hanging our at a Tswift concert to really know much about real music. You let this song thing consume you to the point where you call CPR a "liar" and you don't like liars. Well I guess you don't like to many people then because almost everyone lies about something in their life. The fact that you choose to label CPR a liar over this proves to me that you don't know the guy at all.
3. The thing in the FAWCast that really pushed me to make the tool comment was when you were talking about Coach Prohm. I am paraphrasing here but "is he a square?, you know, would he be cool to have a beer with or is he a one beer kind of guy? Because he kind of comes off as a square." I know you were probably joking and trying to be funny but it came off as something a stereotypical DB frat boy would say (sorry if I offend anyone who is a fraternity member).
Listen you are probably a great guy (just like I bet most posters on here are that I disagree with), a good realtor, and I don't question your ISU fandom, but the way you present your opinions you come off as a tool. I know plenty of people on this site and they all know I am not shy about saying what I feel (just like you aren't) and tell it as I see it. Also, I do not and have not ever hidden behind a screen name, I am pretty easy to find. Click on my avatar, my name and even my phone number are right there on the side of my racecar and if that picture is to small look at any ISU football roster from 1997 -2001 #39 Linebacker from Camanche, IA.
You enjoy making an a** out of yourself? I thought you had a real-life reputation to uphold...
Well, in any case, it is what it is. You can do what you want, I surely don't mind. I'm sure you've heard all of this schpeel before, too, so carry on.
Just stfu already.
Rhoads is a liar because he said he has nothing to do with the song. I know for a fact he picked it and can change it. When he said that, he threw the people who run the music at the games under the bus.
The song sucks. That is beside the point though.
I don't like Rhoads because he comes first in that world, not the players. McCarney let plays choose uniforms, what music to warm up to, what music to enter too, etc. He was a players coach.
Rhoads is a control freak and has his hands in everything, including the intro music. No player on that team would willingly choose SOTW to walk in to. Nobody.
The song isn't the point. The point is Rhoads picked it because he likes it. Does he need to get pumped up? No the players do. He doesn't care, it's about him.
I would admire the hell out of the guy if he would have just said on that call in show that he liked SOTW and picked it. Simple to do. Instead he pussed out and made it seem like it wasn't his call. That is a character issue to me.
Will be glad to see him gone.
As for the D Line thing, you can choose to interpret that however you choose. If you have listened to the fawcast I think you know I actually know a thing about football. Played it in college. Been around it my whole life. I know the history of Paul Rhoads.
Liking TSwift makes me awesome, just like Adam Gray.
Again, not the song. The song does suck though. It is what is BEHIND the song that bothers me. A stubborn coach who plays the music he wants instead of what his players want. That is the issue. Any yes, that song has always blown as an intro song as well. Hated it since day 1.Did the song bother you when we were winning? I'm going to go ahead and guess no, just like everyone else. Seems like a petty thing to be mad about.
I'm going to weigh in now on Mark Charter's character...just kidding. FAWcast is really enjoyable. You guys should try to have more fun like you were a couple of months ago. So the football team is not great - we get it. We all know the outlook is dismal from here on out. Seriously, I always look forward to hearing you three talk. Adam Gray is the man.
Liking TSwift makes me awesome, just like Adam Gray.

just wait until I start the post talking about how much I spent on World Series tickets at Wrigley today!

You gotta talk to Gray about that. Whenever I want to have "fun" on the show, Gray frowns at me, then cries so I feel bad and we talk x's and o's, which I think is boring most of the time.
If it was up to me, we would talk about fun stuff the whole time.
So to recap, blame Gray. Gray sucks.
Too bad the only thing you can't buy is respect.
Again, I have ZERO expectations that Rhoads would EVER resign. I'm on record about him thinking the program is about him (I have my reasons for that). The larger point here is how refreshing it is for a coach to say the things Spurrier just said. No blame, just that he isn't good enough anymore. That is rare.
Like I said, petty, it's a ******* song. I am not sure if you have kids but do you tell them there is a Santa Claus, a Toothfairy, a Easter Bunny perhaps? Or perhaps on a house you sell you fail to omit a minor issue. If so you are a liar too. See it's something petty and dumb. And yes I put a lie about warm-up music in the same category as the before mentioned items.
I will disagree with you on your "Rhoads come first" theory, I have witnessed many things in person that debunk that. And I know many players that have played under CPR would consider him a players coach. I will also say that under Mac (and I love Mac and thank him for everything he did for me) but I never once experienced Mac letting us pick the warm-up music. We did get to vote if we wanted socks up or down though. As far as entrance music, I do not even remember us having any, I remember us walking down the concrete ramp on the eastside of the Jacobson worried about slipping from our metal tipped cleats, really boring (I would have killed for SOTW or any song for that matter with the fog machine going, not to pump me up, but just to make it not so boring).
Anyways, I am done with the subject. I need to get back to hiding behind my screen name.
