Speculation that Osama Bin Laden killed

It would be amazing but wouldn't mean much imo. Just like if Obama were to be killed the country is still here and will uprise and fight. Unless we can guarantee Taliban has been completely taken out then it's not a huge deal, they have other leaders that will take control.

Bin Laden is the figure head leader of Al Queda, not the Taliban. They cooperate at times, but they are definitely not the same. The Taliban is focused on mostly Pushto areas, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Al Queda has much wider goals.

I think people are ridiculous for making this partisan. Holy balls, unless you have top security clearance, you know as much as we do. Just give it 24 hours before you beat it to death, thanks. :skeptical:

Here is a funny picture on the reviews of Osama's compound on Google Maps...

Agreed. The idea that the left didn't support the war in Afghanistan/the hunt for Bin Laden is outrageous.

I would love to find YouTube video of the votes on going to war. Pretty unanimous, in my recollection.

Correct. There was opposition from the left on Iraq, which was a very different war, started for very different reasons and had nothing to do with Afghanistan and the War on Terror.

Afghanistan was a retaliation strike against the people who attacked us, and a (now successful) attempt to take down the head of those regimes. Iraq was about, well, I don't know what Iraq was about. I just know it wasn't connected to taking down Al-Qaeda and ending the War on Terror.

To this day, I still don't have any trouble believing that there were legitimate links between Saddam and Al-Qaeda. I'm still glad we went in. I think we needed to do that.

It's messier than we hoped, but you really can't effectively plan out the endgame as much as people want to think we can.

Not to make this political - but the reasons we were given were untrue. Whether or not Bush knew that is up for debate, but I still need proof. It's over and done with, though, and I agree with Al that it's irrelevant to this topic. This was a pretty unanimous decision.

Clearly people's thinking can be amiss.

And completely and utterly false. I didn't know one single Democrat who opposed the war in Afghanistan and the hunt for Bin Laden.

You are obviously confusing the War in Afghanistan, which started just a few months after 9/11 and was supported by nearly everyone, with the later invasion of Iraq.

Please get your facts straight before posting more factually incorrect political garbage. Thanks in advance. Knowledge is power.

Dude we agree. I'm saying Afghanistan was supported by everyone, and continues to be.

I don't want to make this political, but to this day there are no facts that support your belief, and people have spent a decade trying to find the link. At some point, when none of the facts support something, its a good idea to quit believing it.

MSNBC just said Osama was shot in the left eye. ABC has been saying he was double tapped(shot twice in the head) as well. Picture, if released, could be pretty gruesome.
